Etch Empathy
Empowering The Blind We work directly with communities, volunteers, charities and private sectors to reduce inequality and improve accessibility.
Etch Empathy is a nonprofit organisation in Singapore dedicated to serve ASEAN visually impaired communities in achieving their aspirations.
Over the weekend, Joshua who is leading Etch Empathy’s e-accessibility training and consultancy division, conducted a workshop for 11 visually impaired. This is very impactful as it’s a blind leading the blind workshop however the participants did not just follow blindly. They learn with much enthusiasm.

Over 2 weekends and 5 recipes, with 16 VI trainees - we finally managed to bring our baking curriculum to life! 🥞🥔 The core team consists of 2 VI chefs that planned all recipes from scratch making it VI friendly, 2 program operations that helped ensure everything runs smoothly, and our group of NTU volunteers that made all this possible 🔥 And not to forget - our kind donors that donated ovens that served as a timely Christmas gift for all our VI trainees! All of them managed to bring one oven home each all thanks to your generosity ❤ This helps the VI to apply what they learnt in class back at home - concretizing & moving us one step closer towards independent living!
From all of us at ETCH Empathy, thank you for believing in what we do and Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
This is organised by ETCH Empathy, supported by Fortitude Culina, and powered by National Youth Council.

An immense appreciation and thank you to Israel in Singapore for believing in our cause and capabilities. We are extremely honoured to have been part of this heartwarming event - where people of all walks of life come together for a common cause.
And of course, Outback Steakhouse Singapore for the great hospitality and participating in such a meaningful event. The great food was a bonus! Along with the variety of Israeli wines paired and selected for each dish, enhancing the entire meal experience.
Last but not least, we would like to express our gratitude to all staff that made this possible.
Looking forward to future collaborations!
The donations received from this event will be utilized to expand on culinary classes for the Visually Impaired individuals. Do look out for Fortitude Culina to find out more about our blind cooking classes and ways to support the Visually Imapired community.

Another empathy building for our youths :)
Foreign workers staying at Greyform Dormitory shared their personal stories with students from River Valley High School last Sunday. Social barriers were broken down and conversations flowed freely, as our students heard directly from the foreign workers about their motivations for working in Singapore. The students also toured the workers’ factory-converted dormitory, giving them a rare glimpse into the foreign workers' “home away from home”.
