Throwback to June 2024, join us in commemorating the love and sacrifices by our parents in a time of appreciation!

Just wrapped up an incredible journey with 20 youth members and volunteers at Fo Guang Shan Tai Hua Temple, Thailand, from 12-19 June 2024.

During our stay, we joined forces to assist in the temple's inauguration ceremony. We had the opportunity to help with various tasks which includes food service, cleaning, and maintaining the temple grounds together with youths from Malaysia and Indonesia.

It was a fulfilling experience working together in the spirit of community and service!

「2024亞洲佛光青年聯誼會」首度在佛光祖庭大覺寺召開，4月5日至7日來自馬來西亞、新加坡、印尼、菲律賓、日本、韓國、香港、台灣、澳門青年以及大陸優世代的近300位佛光青年齊聚一堂。本次大會以「共生與共榮」爲主題，安排各式豐富精采的課程，結合亞洲各區佛光青年團務報告，以及青年接力表演，展現各地青年分團特色文化，激發大眾的願心願力，期許這個菩提種子未來能夠生根發芽。

A new year, a new beginning. On February 4, Fo Guang Shan (Singapore) held a New Year gift pack distribution event jointly planned and executed by the BLIA YAD (Singapore) and the Fo Guang Cares. It is to bring a New Year atmosphere in advance to warm the hearts of the poor families and independent elders.

Together with us is Ms Yeo Wan Ling MP of Punggol Shore and Our Fo Guang Shan Singapore Abbess Venerable Miao Mu.

BLIA YAD SG members went for the 103 Intake Short Term Monastic Retreat.

Delicious Laba Porridge
On The eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, commonly known as the "Laba Festival". On this day, it is to commemorate the Buddha's enlightenment. This is also known as the Dharma Day.

Laba porridge are cooked and distributed to everyone.

The story behind Laba porridge: When Buddha gained enlightenment, he was offered a bowl of porridge by a shepherdess. And that allowed Buddha to regain his strength.

We hope that everyone who has eaten Laba porridge can share the joy of the Buddha's enlightenment.

Our theme this year was "Snowy White".

YAD members prepared everything from shopping to games. Our President, Valarie was the chef for the night, she curated a delicious 8-course menu!

YAD members are really grateful to all the Venerables, BLIA and Volunteers.

Annual Gratitude Night is back with a Snowy White theme!
Thinking of Winter sonata, Frozen: Elsa and Olaf (we had our own version of Olaf!) , bringing down the heat in Singapore, but still keeping our passion burning!

A delicious 8 course "Fine but not so fine" dining menu was curated by BLIA-YAD Singapore's President, Valarie. She also led a group of YADs (as well as senior YADs from previous terms) in firing out all dishes. Defintely a burst of Umami in the palattes of the guests.

BLIA YAD White Elephant Executive Staff (Level 1), Joe Yew lead the program team at the front, providing with fun and interactive entertainment which brought laughters and fun to the guests. Amazing hospitality was also provided by our very own YAD service team!

YAD members did every single preparation task, from shopping of items to planning games, doing mise en plac (food preparation) and cooking.

The annual Gratitude Night is held to show appreciation to Venerables, BLIA and volunteers for always nuturing and supporting BLIA YAD members in all manner.
