๐ BRAT SUMMER THIS, BRAT SUMMER THAT... Have you tried out everything on your summer to-do list before this season ends?
If your list does not include giving back to the community yet, we say give being a part-time facilitator a go!
For you, this simply means carving out a few hours out of your week or month (this is an ad hoc, paid opportunity). But to the youths part of our impact programmes, your guidance could be pivotal and may even have a tangible impact on their lives moving forward ๐

Weโve had staff come and go over the past 20 years who were all equally important to us, and last week, we bid farewell to two of our long serving and cherished members of Halogen who have journeyed with us for 7.5 and 12 years respectively. As we celebrated their time here with too many chaotic rounds of โWho said that?โ and looots of pizza, we also celebrated the culture that has been fostered over the years here, supporting everyone in their endeavours, even if it means moving on from .

Last week, our Fellows celebrated Christmas early with HSCA Highpoint! Over an evening of dinner, games, and performances, our community of fellows learned more about the lives of ex-offenders and the challenges they face in reintegrating into society.
The past few months have been an incredibly fulfilling time for our Fellows, one that has been rich with opportunities for them to explore, learn, and discover. In Peeling Problems with Shuo Yan Tan, they dived into frameworks and exercises to redefine problems and gained fresh perspectives into the complexities of tackling issues that they care about.
Our Fellows also had the opportunity to be a part of three community engagement sessions with EQUAL+! Behind-the-scenes guided tours and supporting EQUAL+'s programmes and Christmas celebrations were just some of the highlights they shared. Through this, they engaged closely with the special needs community, befriending, and connecting with them as they interacted with horses.
As we turn the page to a new year, our Fellows are excited to continue learning, forging connections, understanding diverse perspectives, and leading positive change in 2024. Here's to a future filled with continued growth, and impactful endeavours!
Finally, the holiday vibes are upon us ๐๐๐ด Just as you're easing into self-reflection mode, the Halogen team is doing the same... FROM BINTAN!
2023 has been such an eventful year for us. Our team has taken the past week to unwind, celebrate our Ws, and intentionally set goals for next year, over lots and lots of tasty Indonesian cuisines.

TikTok, to our mentees, is not just a video app associated with dance challenges or fan edits of their favourite celebrities anymore. After attending todayโs TikTok X Halogen youth mentorship launch at TikTokโs Global Headquarters, it is now a space where they can come together to gain clarity on their future career navigation path while speaking to experts from a wide range of industries.
During todayโs launch of the mentorship programme, our Guest of Honour, Mr. Tan ้ๅฃ่พ, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Ministry of Trade and Industry, shared with our first cohort of 54 mentees the importance of building networks through mentoring, and for mentors as well as mentees to keep an open mind towards learning from each other throughout the process.
We hope the panel discussion on the benefits of having a mentor, managing triumphs and challenges in your journey, and ways to cultivate a stronger relationship with your mentors was insightful! Wishing all our mentees an exciting next 6 months!

Ahoy and cheers to the crew of 2023's Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Graduate Mentorship Programme!
Today, the 6-month journey officially comes to an end for last year's batch of NFTE graduates, where mentees and mentors connected monthly to discuss the mentee's personal and professional development.
To our graduates: As you navigate the uncharted waters of early adulthood, we encourage you to not only cherish the invaluable lessons imparted by your mentors, but to actively apply these to your daily lives - whether that means allowing these to inform your actions or guiding your peers with the knowledge you've gained.
A huge shoutout to all our mentors and mentees for committing your time and energy to this programme. We hope that the connections fostered will continue to ripple through your seas for years to come!
