At OJO KAI JOO, we're on a mission to spread awareness about myopia (nearsightedness) and its potential risks, especially in children. Did you know that myopia is often caused by the elongation of the eyeball, which can be influenced by our lifestyle choices, like excessive near work? 👓📚

But here's the alarming part: when myopia reaches more than -6.00 diopters, it increases the risk of developing serious eye conditions like glaucoma, maculopathy, and retinal detachment. 😱

📚 Scientific studies have shown that each additional 1 D of myopia is associated with a 58% increase in the risk of myopic maculopathy, a 20% increase in open-angle glaucoma risk, a 21% increase in posterior subcapsular cataract risk, and a 30% increase in retinal detachment risk. Hey mums & dads, I'm happy to share with you how I started managing the myopia progression for my 9yo son, EJ, who has been wearing glasses since he was in K2! 👓

Being such an active boy, wearing glasses caused him so much inconvenience, especially since he loves doing sports so much.
