The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with the Austrian Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic,
is delighted to invite you to join our factory tour of Koppert and Wertheim,
scheduled for June 18, 2024.

We will be visiting two long-established companies with strong traditions, providing an opportunity for members to gain industry insights and network.

Koppert was founded in 1967 by Jan Koppert, a Dutch grower with a clear vision: the world needed an alternative to chemical pesticides. He was the first to find a natural solution to combat pests in his crops, setting in motion a major transformation towards sustainable agriculture. For over 50 years, Koppert has been pushing agricultural innovation, impacting growers and farmers worldwide. Their products and knowledge help restorethe natural balance in crops, improving crop health, resilience, and yield. Koppert meets the highest food safety demands on its way to the ultimate goal of 100% sustainable agriculture.
Koppert is located in Nové Zámky.

Wertheim is a family-run company with a long and established history. Dating back to 1852, Franz von Wertheim founded the company to produce "fireproof safes." Wertheim has continued to build on the founder’s passion to develop and produce innovative products with the highest quality, precision, and safety standards. In addition to its core business of safes, strongrooms, and bank products, the company has expanded into new business areas. It now offers commissioned manufacturing of partial and fully finished goods for third parties, as well as interior furniture solutions and security doors.
Wertheim is located in Dunajská Streda.

The NCC will provide an option for group transportation, departing Bratislava at 8:00 AM, at a fee (final cost depending on the number of interested attendees).
Alternatively, you may arrange your own transportation.

The traditional annual general meeting took place on February 7, 2024, at the Sheraton Hotel. We shared an overview of the chamber's activities from the previous year with attending members. Furthermore, members had the chance to vote for the re-election of Beatrix Sidová to the board, alongside welcoming new board member Ab Olde-Scheper. After the meeting, we enjoyed our customary New Year's drinks, with a fantastic turnout of attendees joining in the celebration.

The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce hosted its 18th Annual Gala Charity Dinner on 11/11/2023 at the Grand Hotel River Park. This year, we raised 10,000 euros, enabling the purchase of a heart massage device for the Fire Brigade of the Slovak Republic.
Mr. Gijs van der Loo presented the check to Mr. Lt. Col. Ing. Juraj Klátik. Gratitude goes to sponsors in the Live and Online Auctions (KLM,Dolphin, Spin bar, Fire Brigade, and more) and raffle contributors (Sojka resort, VGD SLOVAKIA, The HEINEKEN Company and others). The evening featured a lively atmosphere with singer Ivana Regešová and a DJ, and special thanks to financial sponsors like PwC Slovakia ,CTP Slovakia,ING,Komerční banka , Philips, Union poisťovňa a.s., Union zdravotná poisťovňa a.s. , Arval Slovakia - BNP Paribas Group , VGD SLOVAKIA , The HEINEKEN Company , Embassy of the Netherlands in Slovakia - NLinSlovakia, NN, Hairless

Talent is more valuable than gold!

We are therefore excited to share that 125 young ambitious students have applied to the first edition of “Talent garden”, the innovative traineeship program of 4 Dutch companies in Slovakia: HEINEKEN, ING, NN and Union.

Twelve students will be selected to participate in this unique one-year program which is supported by the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia, the Netherlands Embassy in Slovakia and the Ministry of Economy. The students will experience work in all four companies within one year and in addition to that receive tailor-made training, interesting assignments and networking opportunities as part of their unique journey.

The selection process will start shortly and the first group will start their traineeships in the beginning of 2024. Good luck to all the candidates and we will keep you posted!

The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce hosted a classic Belgian gathering at the charming Liquid Factory restaurant located in the heart of Bratislava. A multitude of guests gathered to savor a beloved Belgian delicacy: mussels and fries. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Indalo, the event's primary sponsor, for providing our guests with authentic Belgian beer and exquisitely delightful presented Belgian pralines.

On 10th October, the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia hosted sociologist Mr. Michal Vašečka. Analysing the results of the recent parliamentary elections in Slovakia, our members were able to obtain more in-depth insight of the election results as well as likely potential development. We thank Mr. Vašecka for very interesting evening and enriching discussion.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ambassador Gabriella Sancisi for graciously hosting our annual Back-to-Work event on September 28, 2023, at her residence. We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather, allowing our chamber members to enjoy her unique garden. The evening was made truly memorable by the musical talents of Dutch DJ Andre, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

To help talent bloom in Slovakia, four companies The HEINEKEN Company ING Hubs Slovakia NN Group Union poisťovňa a.s., Union zdravotná poisťovňa a.s., the Embassy, The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic, with the support of Ministerstvo hospodárstva Slovenskej republiky have created a unique traineeship program for University students. Students of 3rd and 4th year will be able to experience their own journey through all companies, including concrete assignments, professional trainings, workshops, attractive benefits and competitive remuneration. And above all, gain valuable experiences and skills, create their own network of valuable contacts and increase their chance to be successful in their future careers.

„Both the Netherlands and Slovakia face the same challenges regarding shortage of skilled and trained people on the job market. It is time to work on solutions, that is why I am particularly delighted about the initiative of 4 Dutch companies that have been operating in Slovakia for many years. Thanks to them, young Slovak students will be able to experience qualified work in an international environment right here in Slovakia.” Ambassador Gabriella Sancisi commented.

This project is one of the concrete results of the State Visit of HM the King and HM the Queen to Slovakia in March.
