I had an opportunity to lead the discussion processes as a Rapporteur (with Burundi as the Chair) at the 8th Sectoral Council Meeting on Inter-State Security held here in Nairobi, Kenya. As my country, South Sudan prepares to take over the Chair of East Africa Community (EAC) in the next few days, I commended the leadership role played by the Republic of Burundi as an outgoing Chair of the Community in streamlining regional engagement towards peace, security and progress.

As a Ministry at the helm of internal security matters, I assured the Summit of South Sudan's continuous commitment to fully cooperate and fulfill its regional obligations towards harnessing an enduring regional Peace and Stability throughout the East African Community.

Sport is a transformative tool that can deter at-risk youth from crime and violence. Not only do sports promote peace, tolerance and understanding but also bring people together across boundaries, cultures and religions. Yesterday's match between Aweil East and Rumbek East speak volumes. Organizers of such sporting activities should be commended for the job well done!

I was honoured to lead a government delegation to the Central African Republic upon invitation by the Central African government for South Sudan to partake in the Regional Ministerial meeting for the official launch of the "Support Platform for the Solution for Forcibly Displaced Persons Related to Central African Republic Crises" convened in CAR capital, Bangui.

The two-day Ministerial Conference started with the Regional Technical Committee (RTC) detailed discussion of the Yaunde Declaration (2022) and its core principles which denoted state and regional responsibility toward finding a collective solution for CAR Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees. The Conference also formed the basis for final validation of the Tripartite Agreement which was signed today by South Sudan alongside five (5) other neighbors to Central Africa Republic.

The official signing ceremony was witnessed by delegates from neighboring countries, international peace actors, financial institutions and international community under the patronage of H.E Professor Faustin-Archange Toudera, the President of the Central African Republic.

Yesterday, Hon. Minister and I held a lengthy discussion with senior officers of NPSSS. We identified specific requirements in rebuilding the capacity of prison management to lead the process of reform. We'll set up activities that will bolster NPSSS to achieve sustainable reform and development of an effective criminal justice system which adheres to international standards and norms.

My country men and women, I and my family truly thank you so much for your unwavering support, love and best wishes upon my appointment as the deputy Minister of Interior. In the same note I also want to express my gratitude to our dear president for the trust he bestowed upon me. During this crucial time, I promise to be with you and protect the lives and properties of our country. I will be faithful to you and South Sudan, SPLM oyee.

Hon. Minister Angelina J. Teny and I visited the South Sudan Civil Defense Service HQRs for the first time since its establishment.

The Ministry leadership addressed itself to critical issues the SSCDS is facing and assured the leadership of Civil Defense of the Ministry's commitment to provide essential fire fighting equipments to effectively carryout their constitutional duties as a significant government institution in the country.

Yesterday, Minister for Interior Hon. Angelina Jany Teny and I met with South Sudan National Police senior officers headed by IGP Gen. Majak Akec Malok since our appointment. The briefing was tailored to the needs of the National Police Service to achieve sustainable security and development goals.

Today, I met with Watanabe Tomoko, chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Japan.

We discussed how to coordinate and enhance development efforts to support the government in reducing traffic congestion/accidents, adding fire brigade vehicles to existing three and also construction of vocational training centres across the country.

Tomoko reaffirmed the Japan’s determined and unwavering support to the government of South Sudan.

This morning, I had the distinct honour of gracing the 7th and 8th (Batches) Graduation Ceremony of adult inmates, juveniles and prison personnel of Juba National Prison along with the Director General of National Prison Service of South Sudan and the Senior Officers of NPSSS, the Commissioner General of Civil Defence, UNDP Resident Representative and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Juba and other distinguished government officials.

The Graduation Ceremony entails how the Ministry of Interior and Law Enforcement agencies are working hard to avail opportunities for inmates to later leave prison as reformed citizens capable enough to make life easier and create opportunities for better livelihoods.

I congratulated the graduands and commended their resilience and hard work towards properly utilizing their time to build on the much-needed skills which would be of greater use to them and their families.

Our president is a noble man whose his entire life was dedicated to liberation struggle, I pray for more blessings upon you.

I took time to read this interesting book.

He also came to United States as a refugee back in the day, you are a role model to many young South Sudanese living in USA were everything is possible. dreamers are the achievers Congratulations we are proud of you brother.
