Trinidad & Tobago Bobsleigh! 🇹🇹 3 years ago, none of this existed!

Now, thanks to what was able to create in 2021 we have a full team, now with first ever female pilot as well as the 2nd male pilot .williams

This team has come so far and accomplished so much in a very short amount of time. From the 2022 Olympic games, to top-20 at a world championships, and the Caribbean's first ever 4-man podium.

But we're not done yet. Our plan: to qualify for the 2026 Olympics, and solidify a funded, sustainable program that will allow Akenke, Xav, and others to continue the legacy that's already been created by Axel and before him Greg Sun in the 1990's.

The Soca Sliders are here and showing one race at a time that not only are we Caribbeans in bobsleigh, but we're here to compete, not just be a sideshow!

And as ever, thank you to the brakemen and coaches without whom none of this would be possible!

The 🇹🇹 are back in 4-man action tomorrow for the final 2 races of the season!

These last few weeks have been very, very challenging with 4 out of 5 athletes being sidelined at one time or another for varying different reasons.

So, we limp to the start line tomorrow to finish what we started and get qualified for the World Cup next season. We thought we'd be firing on all cylinders by the end of the season, ready to challenge for an extended podium. However, due to circumstances beyond out control, we will just be battling for a second run.

Hopefully we can salvage a few little wins from these races and end the season in style. One thing's for sure, we're not defeated and will be doing everything we can, within the constraints we have been dealt! 💪🏽🇹🇹

Another great day for T&T bobsleigh! 🇹🇹 Akenke took her first runs from the top of any track. The first time a female athlete from Trinidad & Tobago has EVER done it!

The next stage will be getting consistent and qualifying for the race next week. But both Akenke and Xaverri are making big strides towards making that happen, and being able to field 3 teams in one race! 🇹🇹

We will of course keep you updated on the progress of all THREE of our pilots heading into next week.

First run from the top! 🇹🇹👆🏼

Xav took his first ever run off the top of a bobsleigh track as a driver today. A huge milestone for his career, but also for the development of bobsleigh in Trinidad & Tobago. 🇹🇹

Shout-out to Anton for jumping in the back for the first run off the top, and Dre for the maiden runs on Monday. It takes a lot of courage to do that, and both should be commended 👏

It's a big week for T&T, and while Axel recovers from his illness, all focus is on Xaverri and Akenke, on their journeys to being potentially the next full-time pilots for T&T!

The are back in action tomorrow on the World Cup. It will be a World Cup debut for De Aundre which is always exciting! 🇹🇹

Our backs are against the wall on this one, but we're ready to fight and hopefully put on a good show in only the 2nd race ever for our nation on the World Cup!.... Nothing to lose, so let's into the Christmas break! 🎅🏼🎄

This was always out goal coming to these races, but after the first race (14th) seemed like a long shot.

However the entire team got better, and more refined in every aspect with each run.

As the only Non-Europeans in this Europe Cup, it's a great achievement to come in and be battling with high top speeds, and impeccable vibes! The start needs work, but we're working! 💪🏼💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🇹🇹
