Happy Feast of the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good He has done for me? The cup of salvation I will take up, and I will call upon the name of the Lord.

The Holy Eucharist is a "meal" where we are honored to share in the body and Blood of Christ. The divinity of Christ is shared to our humanity to bring joy. We have the responsibility to invite others to experience Jesus Christ.

Pentecost Sunday mini-concert will precede the English mass at 10:30AM, right after the Chinese mass.

The feast of Pentecost, the last Sunday of Easter, is often referred to as the birthday of the Church.

It is believed that it was during the descent of the Holy Spirit, also known as Pentecost, when the apostles went out among the people and began spreading Jesus’ message, thus establishing the beginning of the Church.

Pentecost (which is Greek for 50th day) is celebrated 50 days after Easter and marks the day that the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles with Mary while they were hiding behind locked doors following Jesus’ resurrection.

After receiving the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit, the apostles immediately went out and preached Jesus’ message to everyone — the apostles were heard speaking in different languages.

"Go into the world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature."

As today's Gospel reminded us of how God commissioning His disciples in the olden times, let us also know that God has commissioned us to be His disciples in this modern times. We may not have all the time to spread the good news but known that we can be disciples even when we are very busy by praying for each other. May we also properly utilize social media in spreading God's word.

As Fr. Seba said, let us praise God and be communicators of His love and joy. He once again commissioned us today so let us continue to be firm in our community service.

A visiting priest's 24th Sacredotal Anniversary celebration with the IHM Banqiao community

Fr. Bertin met Fr. Edwin when he attended his friend's priestly ordination in the Philippines last month. Long story cut short, we are happy and blessed to have joined Rev. Fr. Edwin J. Fontanilla, from Saint John the Baptist Parish, Caba, La Union and ICST-Vigan, in celebrating his Sacredotal Anniversary while they were in Taipei. Joined by three more Ilocano priests, Fr. Felix, Fr. Rainier and Fr. Jonathan, we felt like we went for a short visit in La Union 😀. Their seminary formator, Rev. Fr. Liber Ortega, virtually joined us shortly during the dinner fellowship.

Seeing the camaraderie among priests is such a joy and inspiration. They are definitely humans too, who need break to get refreshed.

Let us continue to pray for our priests.

Happy 24th Sacredotal Anniversary, Fr. Edwin. Diyos ti kanayun nga agngina. 🙏

Filipino-English Community Lenten Recollection 2021

Please join us on Palm Sunday, 28th March 2021, 10AM to 4PM at the 10th floor, CICM House.

Recollection speaker: Sr. Nellie Zarraga, ICM

Lunch will be served.
Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) after lunch break.
Eucharistic Celebration (mass) at 3PM.

To friends in Taipei area, we would like to invite you as we launch the monthly English (anticipated) mass this Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, No. 73 Linsen North Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City (church is near Royal Inn Taipei Linsen and is located ~10mins walk away from Shandao Temple MRT station). Agape dinner (up to 7:30pm) will follow right after the mass.

Next English mass will be held every 4th Saturday of the month thereafter. Please feel free to contact me or any of the tagged friends for any queries.
