Denis Irama, the District Medicines Management Supervisor in Adjumani district, was one of the beneficiaries of our competence-based training for public health workers through the ANSWER Project.
Throughout the project, Marie Stopes Uganda’s focus was on enhancing the security of Reproductive Health commodities in the district and healthcare facilities. This involved:
: Conducted regular check-ins at facilities to provide support and ensure that staff are knowledgeable and can ensure timely and appropriate requests for commodities.
: Conducted both at the district and health facility levels to guarantee the proper utilization of reproductive health products and increase access for those in need.
: Acknowledging champions in districts and facilities to motivate them and inspire others to achieve greater impact.
Public Health workers play a crucial role in ensuring that everyone who needs a reproductive health service gets it and through our partnership with the Ministry of Health, we were able to train over 1800 public health workers in over 210 facilities.
This was made possible with the support of the Government of the Netherlands (through United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)

BREAKING THE BIAS
In many societies, the responsibility of family planning has been left entirely to women. However, it takes two to create a family, which is why we are breaking this bias and encouraging male involvement.
