This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but as no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Jesus said, “I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit — fruit that will last. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” So we are to bear fruit. Fruit that brings God glory and proves we are His disciples. Evangeline was born in Cebu, Philippines, where her family lived near a dump area. She had to skip school and babysit her younger siblings while her mom worked seven days a week, providing food for the family. Evangeline received a shoebox gift when she was 13 years old. There was only one left, and they offered it to her. Its contents met many needs for Evangeline and her family.
