Over the weekend the Christian Youth Rodeo Association hosted their youth rodeo in our beautiful Rawhide Portable Corral arena! Over 80 families from Kansas and Nebraska spent the weekend in the City of Abilene! Youth from ages 3 to 18 competed in all sorts of rodeo events from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. We are so proud to see the young generations competing in our beloved sport of rodeo! It might of been a bit muddy today but the kids looked like they were having a great time!

Yesterday we held the first Wild Bill Barrel Bash at our beautiful Rawhide Portable Corral Arena. We had over 60 entries of contestants from around Kansas and further!
First and foremost, to all of our sponsors, without you, this event wouldn’t of been possible; Yvonne Brunner, Dash Ta Traffic (Mike & Donna Samples), West Ranch/Stylin with Pepto, Roberts Cowboy Outfitters, Rittel’s Western Wear LLC, 3J Performance Horses (Jamie & Kristy Stover), Darcy Tweady-Alliance Realty, Ferguson Farms (Daryl & Paula Ferguson), Red Cedar Land Company, Prairieland Partners, and Land Pride.
Second, to all the contestants who traveled near and far, thank you for coming and we hope to see you back next year!
Third, a huge thank you to the Abilene FFA Chapter for helping run the delicious concession stand!
Fourth, to Kate Howland and her mom Karen for taking entries, etc!
And last but not least, our group of committee members who spent a lot of time prepping the arena and giving up their Saturday to help put it on.
Congratulations to Jeanne Anderson for winning the open race and the buckle sponsored by Yvonne Brunner!
Congratulations to Kendall Cochran for winning the Youth race and the buckle sponsored by 3J Performance Horses!
Congratulations to our Bankes/Auburn Pharmacy Barrel Racers who will compete at the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo, July 30th thru August 2nd; Elsa Snider, Sydnie Snider, Taylor Gustafson, and MaKenna Stover!
Calling all Barrel Racers the arena is going to work down just fine with the rain we’ve had! We will be ready for tomorrow! Can’t wait to see everyone at the Wild Bill Barrel Bash!
