Evelyn Janick, a representative from Thomas Jefferson University will be sharing a presentation at the Physical and Occupational Therapy Club meeting tomorrow (Wed. 3/22) in Sutherland 213 at 12:20 PM.
Welcome back to the spring semester. As we embark upon this new chapter, please remember to check your schedule and degree audit on LionPath, especially if you are planning to graduate in May. Many students' audits are not correct and need to be fixed manually. If you want to declare your intent to graduate but the button does not appear, see your adviser to get your audit fixed.
Representatives from Thomas Jefferson University College of Health Professions will be visiting us tomorrow, (Wed 11/9) at 12:15 in 319W. They train students to work in hospital labs performing a variety of tests to help diagnose patients. Their programs are very good and they have an outstanding job placement rate and their graduates end up earning a very good starting salary. Please attend if you are able.
Registration for spring semester starts soon. Please see your adviser for help choosing courses. Many degree audits on LionPATH are not correct. Your adviser can help you fix any problems.
We are getting lots of questions about the new degree audit on LionPATH. Please note that it is not necessarily accurate at this point. There are some issues with how it assigns courses to requirements and any changes made manually on eLion will have to be re-entered. Hopefully some of these problems will be addressed soon.
Summer is coming to an end and another academic year is beginning. This year is filled with changes including: full implementation of LionPATH, the transition to Canvas, and our crazy new schedule (What do you mean my class starts at 1:25?). It will be a challenge, but with some patience and persistence, we will make it through. All the best this year and please do not hesitate to contact your adviser if you have any questions or need any help.
Make sure you get enough sleep to consolidate those memories and do well on finals!
How the brain consolidates memory during deep sleep How long-term memory is formed is not well understood, and remains a central question of inquiry in neuroscience. Now researchers at the University of California, Riverside report they may have an answer to this question.
Seminar Tomorrow. Come see PSU Abington alum and newly minted Ph. D. Dr. James Michael talk about his thesis work Wed, 4/6, at 12:00 in 319W. The title of his talk is "Regulation of Ras signaling and oncogenesis by plasma membrane micro domains." He will discuss his research as well as his experience as a graduate student. Hope to see you there.
Interested in a career in one of the many fields in biomedical sciences? Come to a presentation by representatives from Thomas Jefferson University, tomorrow at 12 in 246W. They run a great program that trains students well and gets them good jobs after they finish their Masters degree.
Welcome back from break. We hope you are rested and ready for the last half of the semester. Keep in mind that registration begins soon for the fall semester. Make sure you see your adviser to discuss your fall schedule. Changing to LionPath may be a little confusing at first, but we will all adapt to the new system quickly. All the best for the remainder of the spring semester.
