My name is Grace Wear and I am a junior at Latta Highschool. I am a chapter officer for Latta FFA. I work at Ada Veterinary Clinic as a kennel technician and plan to continue school to study veterinary medicine. I love animals and love working with them.

AVC family, we want to give you the warmest Thanksgiving blessings and also remind you of what not to feed your pets during your holiday festivities 🙂

Beyond avoiding this list, do not let your dog trash dive and get into more than their bellies can handle. A lot of the foods are high In fat, sugar, and contain toxic Ingredients to your pets.

Inform your guests, not to feed your dog, and hopefully they will respect those boundaries.

If you need us, we will be on-call ❤ We hope you all have the best Thanksgiving, safe travels, and please don't feed your dog. We love you as clients and patients, but don't want you to come see us over the holiday.

She is originally from Burbank, California and moved to Ada in 2011. She has been a part of the AVC team since 2018. She has one son Cooper Michael who is 6 years old and quite literally the apple of her eye and we love that she shares him with us. She also has one of the cutest dogs, Gemma, but we aren’t partial. In her free time, Jamie enjoys gardening, cooking, and all things Cooper and Gemma. We are so fortunate to have Jamie as our office manager and view it as a privilege to get to highlight her this week!!

Who says we don’t work on the weekend? Dr. Meagan Beavert, took a familiar drive to Stillwater this past weekend. Dr. Beavert is an Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine alumni.

AVC took part in Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine’s 2023 Career and Externship Fair. Dr. Beavert visited with many potential DVM students about their future plans.

For the veteran, thank you for bravely doing what you're called to do so we can safely do what we're free to do.

Troy found his forever home!! If you’ve followed Troy’s story, he’s been a life saver for countless dog lives who were in need of blood. Troy came to us as a puppy and hasn’t known life outside AVC. He is ready to enjoy life to the fullest 🧡

Hello, my name is Lilly Cadenhead. I intern at the Ada Veterinary clinic. I attend Ada High School as a Junior. I am very serious about being a veterinary professional and to attend OSU for vet medicine.

I play varsity tennis on the Ada High School team and I also am involved with the world traveler group and plan on attending an eastern sea board trip soon in the summer!

This past weekend, the AVC crew tested our stamina with the ladies at Conquer Kickboxing. It was a great team building day as we finished with carving pumpkins.

If you didn’t know, Halloween is Dr. Ashley Cottrell Durham’s favorite day of the entire year, so her house is always the spookiest!! 👻

Look at Miss Sadie!! Dr. Durham fixed her ACL tear right up last week and was checked in for her laser therapy session.

After our ortho procedures, our patients come back for laser therapy for another week post surgery. Why do we do this? Better care, decreasing inflammation and your kid will become more mobile at a faster pace.

We continue to celebrate our veterinary technicians this week. At AVC, we are blessed to have four RVTS. Please help us in showing them some love.

Our hospital can't function without all the players. These vet med professionals endour many challenges daily, are great at their jobs, and literally bleed for their patients on some days.

Why do they do it? Because they too, took an oath.

Let’s raise respectful pets!!

This is definitely one of the most valuable things I’ve taught my dogs! I taught this to my puppy when she was 9 weeks old but you can teach it at any age! It is so helpful for when I want my dogs to stay in one spot. For example, when people are eating and you don’t want them begging or don’t want them unsupervised while you eat. Or if you want them to be calm & quiet in the house. But I mainly use this for when I’m camping! Instead of tying my dog to a tree and letting the leash get all tangled, they can lay on their place bed! If you’ve practiced it enough, they will stay on the bed even with big distractions like a squirrel running by or a another dog passing. I also use it a lot when I’m training or playing with multiple dogs, while I train or play with one, the other one stays on the place mat and they take turns training/playing. This works not only for place beds/mats but any elevated surface… like a rock, picnic table, a car, and even the front porch! I got this bed off Amazon! Jade came in with Eldred Cattle Co. today. They brought in their buckin’ bulls, but Jade had a special request for Dr. Meagan Beavert.

If you look close, Dr. Beavert fixed her pony right up. You see, she was lame in the front right and broken. Our large animal team fixed her right up and she’s on the mend ❤️‍🩹
