The above quote is a good reminder to me to walk with God rather than be forced into needless responsibilities the world or others place on me. I especially identify with the "flattering of one's self importance" part. I deeply desire God's rhythm of life as my own. May we all be lead there.

Are grace, love, and a light burden indicative of our faith? If not, maybe we aren’t aligned with the one who we say we follow.

We don’t need “more masculinity. We need a deeper and healed masculinity that serves first, loves more holy and wholly, and seeks not its “rights” but its rightful place at the feet of others with a wash basin and a towel

On Ministry and Life: God doesn't need me to worry about impact. God wants to teach me to be present to people. The natural result of that has eternal impact.

This is NOT the Gospel. But it often gets explained this way.
"Jesus got it RIGHT! Now you try real hard to get it RIGHT. You won't get it right. BUT Jesus made up for that so that his Wrath-Filled (super-ticked-off) Father won't send you to eternal torment.....AS LONG as you did the right thing(s), the right way, and said the right words at the right time to get IN on this deal called salvation."
