VFW 2785 are a group of Warfighters stretching back to 1899. Our present members go back to WWII. No one does more for Veterans!
We support all veterans through Legislative representation in DC and at the local level.
Thanks to a very kind donation we have this soldier out front to greet everyone. This is awesome
The VFW post 2785 and The Moose lodge 1285 are joining together to have a fireworks show July 4th. All members and guests are welcome. Chicken plates and drinks will be available. Come out and support us

Attended and marched in the National Memorial Day parade on 27May2024 with the Desert Storm Group. Representing VFW 2785 and AUX. Also pleseantly pleased to see the Westover Band participating in the parade. Second band after us. A big THANK YOU!! to our patrons of the Friday night dances 50/50 raffle. We are able to donate 500 dollars towards building the Desert Storm Memorial anticipated completion in Fall 2025. Also seen LCPL Steven Sutton representative dog tag at the Veterans and Athletes United (VAU): Dog Tag Memorial in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

Albany Veterans of Foreign Wars to celebrate 80th anniversary this weekend ALBANY – The Albany Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2785 will celebrate its 80th anniversary with a Saturday gathering featuring a barbecue cook-off, food, fellowship and entertainment.

It's that time again! Ready to bring in the NEW YEAR! Comrades and AUX have been working hard to get ready. There's a Party going on down here! Post is decorated and ready to go. Pool tournament starts at 4 pm. Fireworks on the pier start at 8 pm. Entry for the New Years Eve dance is 15 dollars each. Still River Band starts to jam at 8:30 pm. Complimentary Champagne toast and balloon drop starts at 11:30 pm. Prior to that you can purchase a bottle for 20 buck. Jello shots will be available purchase and party favors (noise makers) will be provided. Post open on till 2 am. We will be deep frying 2 turkeys, stuffing and meatballs. A pot luck table will be open for your snacks. We will have plates, napkins and utensils on hand. So come on out and support your friendly neighborhood warfighters. Dress in your best or worst and have some fun! This has been a fantastic year and we have been able to assist all our veterans! All in part because of you!! HAPPY 2024!!!
Congratulations to our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of VFW 2785 2023-2024 Voices of Democracy and Patriots Pen! Winners were presented a Citation and Monetary award of: 300, 275 and 125 dollars respectivly. Awards were presented by Ms. Dana Sheffield; President VFW 2785 Auxilary and Mr. Chris Shroyer; Commander VFW 2785.
