Today, we’re expanding our reach and, with our partners, making a stronger impact in hard-to-reach communities around the world.
Please give today and help Global Strategies continue this life saving work.Your monthly or annual donation will make a difference in the lives of healthcare workers and patients, improving care and treatment community by community.
Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year.
This year our neonatal nurse training program in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo celebrated its 10th anniversary. The program brings high-quality, locally-led neonatal nurse training to the North Kivu Province. Alumni of the neonatal program can be found working in nearly every large birth center throughout the provincial capital and surrounding suburbs.
Please help us keep this life-saving program going, providing valuable educational training to local nurses who bring their new expertise back to their local communities. A monthly or annual gift to Global Strategies supporting this locally-led program will help nurses gain the essential skills and professional connections they need to treat newborns and reduce neonatal mortality in their communities.
One way Global Strategies carries out its mission to improve health is by designing digital tools inspired and informed by our frontline experience. Healthcare workers have now used our NoviGuide software 32,000 times, improving the level of quality of care they provide within their communities. Most of this care has been through our Newborn Essentials program. This initiative helps nurses, midwives and doctors care for small and sick newborns in areas without neonatal specialists.
In response to feedback from frontline clinicians, we are creating new modules to broaden NoviGuide’s reach. Our 2023 Annual Report describes how Global Strategies is expanding the NoviGuide platform with new digital pathways in women’s health, sexually transmitted infections, and emergency medicine. This work is already underway.
As we scale up our digital programs your continued support is more important than ever. Please consider a monthly or annual gift to help us reach our goals to provide better assessment tools to healthcare workers who need it most.

For 12 years, Global Strategies has worked alongside our partner HEAL Africa to provide life-saving care to families through the Children’s AIDS Program. Trying to envision what it is like to live with HIV, and to care for one’s own children living with HIV, in a place beset by war and natural disaster is beyond what most of us can imagine. We wish we could take every one of our friends and supporters to visit the clinic and meet the amazing Congolese medical team. We are grateful to a mother in the Children’s AIDS Program who volunteered to share her story.

Global Strategies and our partners around the world are grateful for your continued support. With your help, our commitment to empowering communities through healthcare has never faltered. Today, we are reaching more communities than ever before. Together with our partners we are expanding training and developing new digital tools to lower infant mortality and improve care in hard-to-reach communities.
But, we can’t do this without you. Your support means we can train more nurses and lower neonatal mortality rates. Your support means we can increase our impact on gender-based violence response through strategic partnerships and collaborations. Your support means we can continue to fund critical HIV care and education. Please give today and help us continue this life-saving work.
The Children’s AIDS Program has provided life-saving care to children born with HIV in the eastern Congo for more than 15 years. The clinic, which cares for more than 700 children, many orphaned by HIV/AIDS, provides high-quality HIV care from birth to adulthood. With your help, and together with our partners, we have demonstrated that no child is beyond the reach of HIV/AIDS care.
Your gifts help support the medical team, social workers, community health workers and support groups that provide children with a true medical home. Please consider a monthly or annual gift to support this locally-led program.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has one of the highest neonatal mortality rates in the world. For more than a decade Global Strategies, with our partners, has provided neonatal nursing training in the region. This highly-specialized training teaches nurses how to deliver first breaths for babies who do not cry at birth, place tiny intravenous catheters and support the nutrition of newborn babies who are initially too sick to feed. We also use digital tools, including the NoviGuide software, to help nurses follow evidence-based practices long after the in-person training is complete.
