Halloween Road Closure on P*e Dee Ave. for Trick or Treating

In order to improve safety for trick-or-treaters the City of Albemarle will be closing residential blocks of P*e Dee Ave. to thru traffic on Halloween night, Tuesday, October 31st 2023, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. If you are traveling through downtown Albemarle in the Five Points area, please continue on East Main Street to detour the closure.

Saturday's Ghost Sign Tours WMS Brothers were incredible! Guests enjoyed a wagon ride while the artists shared about the history and restoration of downtown Albemarle's ghost signs. Proceeds from this event benefit the newest ghost sign restoration project, the Coca-Cola mural at South First and West Main Streets. Santa will be here before you know it! The Albemarle Christmas Parade is Saturday, December 14, at 4 p.m. Participating in the parade is a perfect opportunity to promote your business, organization, or community group.

One of the biggest downtown events of the year is almost here! 🎃👻 Trick or Treat and the children’s costume contest is this Thursday, October 24, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

There will be dozens of spots for children to collect candy! 🍬🍭 Plus, enjoy hayrides, food trucks, face painting, and children’s games. 🎨🎠

Applications are now open for the City of Albemarle’s Downtown Catalyst Grant Program! This is a great opportunity for businesses in the downtown Municipal Service District (MSD) to receive up to $50,000 in grant funds for facade and building stabilization improvements, as well as internal upgrades like furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
