Happy Lee-Jackson Day!
For those who have not heard, there was a "vote" in Charlottesville and the intention is to melt down a work of public art honoring a man that embodies everything good about Virginia that is and was. This is spiteful, plain and simple, and will do nothing to help solve or accomplish anything other than the destruction of a priceless work of art and foment further resentment.

Charlottesville's statue of Robert E. Lee will soon be melted down into public art The Swords Into Plowshares project, led by the Jefferson School American Heritage Center, a local Black-led nonprofit, involves the statute at the heart of the deadly Unite the Right rally in 2017.

The R.E. Lee Camp No. 726 Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) is located in Alexandria, Virginia and is under both the National and the Virginia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV). The Camp was founded on the 17th day of February 1927. It is dedicated to the preservation of Confederate history and heritage and seeing that the true history is passed on to future generations.
The citizen-soldiers who fought for the Confederacy personified the best qualities of America. The preservation of liberty and freedom was the motivating factor in the South’s decision to fight the Second American Revolution.
Today, the SCV and the R.E. Lee Camp are preserving the history and legacy of these heroes, so future generations can understand the motives that animated the Southern Cause. We commit ourselves to honoring our ancestors who served so nobly in that cause and to the continuation of those values for which they sacrificed to preserve for all Americans.
