is an opportunity to join us in keeping children safe from sexual abuse, exploitation and the risk of going missing. Here are three ways your donations help us build a safer world for children.

1. Technology: ICMEC hosts the world's largest missing child alerting system. Since the platform was launched in 2019, the GMCNgine has generated over 6 billion missing child alert media impressions and assisted with the recovery of more than 2,000 missing children.
2. Training: Since 2003, ICMEC has provided training and resources for more than 155,000 professionals, including law enforcement and criminal justice professionals, educators and school administrators, and doctors and other healthcare providers in more than 120+ countries.
3. Tools: 156 countries have refined or implemented new anti-child sexual abuse material laws since ICMEC's Child S*xual Abuse Material: Model Legislation & Global Review was first released in 2006.

Seventeen years ago, our first report revealed a dismaying prospect: Only 27 countries had enacted legislation sufficient to combat CSAM offenses. Since then, the situation has improved. The 9th Edition of our report, published in December 2018, found that 118 countries had in place legislation deemed sufficient to address CSAM. Today, based on the results the 10th Edition, 138 countries now have legislation considered to be sufficient (meaning the legislation meets at least 4 of the 5 criteria).

Traveling alone or with others, children and youth face an increased risk of sexual and physical violence, as well as exploitation and trafficking before, during, and after their migration journeys.

Beyond the vulnerability experienced by migrant adults, children on the run bear additional risks related to their young age, need to rely upon others for survival, lack of resources, and vulnerability to manipulation by adults who wish to exploit them.

🚨 Alarming Rise in S*xtortion Cases 🚨 In 2022, the ACCCE reported over 100 sextortion cases monthly, a staggering 100x increase from 2021. With 3,000 child victims identified last year and a 300% rise in cases over the decade in Canada, the link between CSAM offenders and direct harm to children is undeniable. We urgently need comprehensive strategies, including effective legislation, to fight online child exploitation. Let's unite to safeguard our children.

Our latest research, ‘Child S*xual Abuse Material: Model Legislation & Global Review’, dives deep into the global legal landscape since 2006, examining how 196 countries tackle the colossal challenge of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Progress is evident - from only 27 countries with adequate laws in our first report 17 years ago to 138 today meeting key legal criteria. Yet, 10 countries still lack any anti-CSAM legislation. Our 10th Edition not only analyzes national laws and their efficacy but also provides a blueprint for model legislation adaptable across diverse societies and cultures.
