It was a pleasure and an honor to support the headquarters staff and local community affiliates (many of whom are refugees themselves) of for a three day acupuncture healing clinic with . These individuals work tirelessly to support the wellbeing and resettlement of others. And it was time to give them a little extra self-care as well. We treated close to 100 individuals over three days and those we treated left feeling a little less pain and less stress and anxiety overall. A giant thank you to the six other acupuncturists who supported this clinic with me!

Retreating offers an unabridged space to continue to do the work. The work of soul nourishment, heart healing, clearing and awakening while diving deep into what is needed in the moment. Eternally grateful to sit in meditation on these ancient healing lands in Mexico where rivers flow underneath and cenotes present themselves for ritual bathing and soaking. Abundance of gratitude to my patients so that I can take the time away from my practice in order to return with even more inner wisdom and insight than before.

May you also take a moment or two this holiday season for you. Walk away from the busy and just simply be. Be with your breath. Be with this moment. When we authentically fill ourselves up we have so much more to give to others. Wishing peace to you. Peace to your families. Peace to the world. 🙏❤️

Sweet Norman. So many of you have either met Norms in person or have heard stories of his adventures. He had the biggest heart and was also so loved by many. We had to say our hardest goodbye yet three nights ago. He lived an incredible 15.5 years and I will be forever grateful that he picked me to be his pug Mom. I took this photo at least 5-6 years ago. He might have been around 10 years old. Unfiltered and the rainbow light on him took my breath away. Fitting for this post. Run free Normie cakes. Find a yoga mat or two to rest on when you need a break. Until we meet again. We love you. 💔🌈🐾

Dr. Jodi Knauer, D.Ac. is a volunteer with Acupuncturists without Borders (AWB). In light of recent events in the Middle East and elsewhere around the world, she, along with several other trained AWB volunteers will be offering a complimentary community healing event on Friday, November 10 from 3:30pm-5:30pm to consciously hold a safe space for anyone experiencing stress, trauma or pain. This event will include ear acupuncture points, aromatherapy, reiki and a transformative sound bath by with each treatment. You can either sign up for the 3:30pm or 4:30pm time slots. The event is free, but because space is limited, we require a credit card number to hold your slot. No one who attends the event will be charged, but we will charge a $25 no-show fee for people who sign up and do not attend. Any no show fees collected will be donated to Acupuncturists without Borders. This event will be taking place at Radiance Yoga in Old Town Alexandria located at 701 Prince St. A huge thank you to for hosting this event for us.

AWB is dedicated to providing disaster relief, fostering recovery, and promoting resilience in communities affected by natural disasters, human conflict, environmental devastation, poverty, and social injustice. “We recognize that unresolved trauma not only impacts individual health but also the well-being of families, communities, and entire nations, often with lasting consequences that hinder cooperation and global unity.”

Bring a yoga mat and anything else to make yourself comfortable during your healing session such as a blanket, eye pillow, etc. We will have some chairs available if you prefer to be treated in a chair. Please make sure you have eaten and had enough water prior to the event. This is a safe healing space where little to no talking will be required for treatment.
