Double Reed Days at Grand Valley State University

I would like to invite oboists of all ages and levels to next year's events at Grand Valley State University Music Program.

We will have two oboe workshops:

When I began researching works by composers who lived and worked in Brno during the 20th century, my dream was to make their music available.

Thanks to my colleague Dr. Joel Schut, Director of the GVSU Symphony Orchestra, who wrote a grant and organized not only the U.S. premiere performance of Vladimir Werner's Concerto for Oboe, but also a recording project, you can now listen to this exciting work! I am grateful to my colleagues and students who put their energy and time into bringing this work back to live.

Grand Valley State University offers a variety of degree programs. Students can major in music, music education, pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree, or add music as their minor. Oboe - Grand Valley State University Students majoring in music have weekly lessons and studio classes that take place in the beautiful Sherman VanSolkema Recital Hall or the Cook-DeWitt Auditorium. Each student, regardless of his/her major, learns how to make and adjust reeds in our very well-equipped Reed Room.
