Without a doubt, the greatest benefit of Sports Camp are the friendships made there - and we love that we get a jumpstart on them during the trip out. Team Bethlehem shares the 4.5 hour bus ride to Camp with our friends from Team Lehigh - Special Olympics PA and Team Luzerne. So when it came time to take Team Pictures, we all agreed we needed to do one with our 3 teams combined❤️.

As the week went on, our athletes continued training in their primary sports every morning and rotating through the other camp sports each afternoon. Each sport hosted a competition as their final practice, and our campers’ evenings were filled with a Red White & Blue themed Karaoke Night and a Movie Night.
Sports Camp Photos - 2nd Batch
On Monday and Tuesday our athletes spent their mornings training in a primary sport they selected for themselves, and then spent their afternoons rotating through trying the other sports offered at camp. Evening highlights included fun field games at Challenge Night, and a Hawaiian Shirt themed Bonfire with s’mores.

Our athletes and coaches arrived to camp on Sunday afternoon. A camp scavenger hunt, Opening Ceremonies, and a Bloodhound Search & Rescue demonstration were just some of the day’s highlights.
Soccer practice is starting today at 2 o’clock at Broughal middle school
And they’re off!
Athletes from our program and Team Lehigh - Special Olympics grabbed a bus early this morning and are on their way to Sports Camp in Western PA.
They are spending the week with other Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes from all over the state, and will be doing focused training in various sports. Sports Camp allows athletes to improve their skills in a primary sport, gives them opportunity to try a multitude of other sports, and most importantly - develops and strengthens wonderful friendships with fellow athletes.
A huge thank you to our fabulous coaches who are volunteering to spend the week at Camp - our athletes wouldn’t be able to attend without them.
Safe travels and have an amazing week - we can’t wait for updates!

What an incredibly beautiful day this has been for our summer session golfers. Thanks to the generosity of some wonderful fellow golfers in our community, at today's practice each of our golf athletes was presented with a brand new set of clubs to keep as their own. WOW!!!!
Our profound thanks to Chris and his team from Art of Flight Golf for coordinating all the equipment, to the wonderful donors who each sponsored a set of clubs, and to our coaches Elvin and Andy who were the driving force behind this amazing gift.
We are humbled and grateful for the kindness, love, and support that was showered on our athletes today. From the bottom of our hearts - thank you!

Sending HUGE thanks to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Eagles Autism Foundation for welcoming athletes from Special Olympics Pennsylvania to today’s practice at Training Camp.
Coach Matt and our athletes, Nathan, Brandon, Tim, and Bradley had an amazing day! They watched practice, met players, got tons of autographs, and were treated like VIP’s! Then when practice was over they decided to do a little sightseeing before heading home.
Brandon sent us this message about the day along with some of the pictures you see below:
“Went to the NovaCare complex to watch the Eagles practice. I got autographs by the players including Saquon Barkley. Then we went to the Liberty Bell then the Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed and then saw the Rocky Balboa statue.”
What an absolutely fantastic experience - Thank You so much to the Eagles! GO BIRDS!!!
Yesterday, Coach Matt and our athlete, Nathan, went around town handing out flyers for our upcoming CAR WASH FUNDRAISER for Bethlehem City Special Olympics and our Hair-To-Care for Special Olympics events.
They popped in to Lehigh Valley Barber School to get Nathan a test run haircut for the big event - Nate is thrilled with Special Olympics logo they created in his cut. ❤️
Along the way they also stopped by to see our friends at Nancy Run Fire Company.
Copies of both flyers and a great look at Nathan’s new haircut are included below. Come out this Saturday for our Car Wash, and don’t miss the Haircut event on next Friday, August 2nd.
Can’t wait to see you!
