I’m in Month 2 now of learning and I have good and bad days.
My bad days are when I don’t get the technique down and get in my head with negative thoughts on my progress.
My good days are when I get the technique down and feel like I am somewhat understanding on how to move my body.

I will not quit and having the support and knowledge of my hubby Iron Horse BJJ by my side with some great friends/ training partners helping me get better is all I need to reach my goal.

My goal is to learn, grow, know what to do, and how to use my body 😂

Congratulations to Alex who went out to Charlotte to compete this weekend and represented and Alex took bronze in his division in the Gi as well as Gold in the open. He also competed in Nogi the following day and won his division taking home the Gold as well. Awesome work 💪

Sunday Reminder that it’s never too late to learn something new! 👏🏼

Why did I decide to learn jiu jitsu now when my husband has been doing it since I’ve known him for over 24 years?

1- Our kids always come first. I was driving our daughter to Atlanta for soccer practices in the evenings after I would get off from working my day job. With her driving now, that means more TIME for me now.

2- Our gym has been opened for a year now and is growing. I am helping with the administrative part and teaching some classes, but I want to be able to do more.
Being such a planner, I knew if I would start training now, in a couple years when the lease is up, we hopefully will be expanding and have grown so much that I will be there to help more with the classes. SUPPORT is what I will always do for us.

3- I love challenging myself and this definitely does it while learning a life skill, as they all say it’s a SUPER POWER.

4- FAMILY. My husband and our children are my world. I get to spend more time with my husband while having the honor to watch his dreams come true.

You are never too old to step outside of your comfort zone and welcome those challenges that will mold you into that ! ⭐️
