Each year, on October 23-31, since 1988, during the month of october, more than 80 million people of all ages show their commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle by wearing or displaying a red ribbon.
Using recreational drugs, such as alcohol, electronic ni****ne delivery systems, and ma*****na are illeagal for people under the age of 21 in California. Additionally, abusing drugs and alcohol increases the risk of physical dependance, addiction, and increased stress on the body and mind.People who abuse drugs or alcohol to manage stress put themselves at greater risk of chronic illnesses, early death, and mood disorders like depression and anxiety. Instead of turning to drugs or alcohol to de-stress, have fun or to fit in with new people, it is important to find healthy alternitives to drugs: get enough sleep, excersise and eat healthy, practice breathing, mindfulness, or meditation techniques, take breaks from stressful situations, and lastly surround yourself with good friends and family who also practice healthy habits.
Please join us for red ribbon week lunchtime activities on october 21th to 25th to promote a drug-free lifestyle here on campus thank you.

8th Graders & Kindergarten Buddies in Action!
Our 8th graders have a blast spending time with their kindergarten buddies! They teamed up to complete puzzles, color fun pictures, and share lots of smiles and laughter. It’s so wonderful to see the big kids helping and bonding with their younger friends. These moments of connection remind us how special our school community truly is!
Check out these awesome pics from our 4th graders' tower-building challenge! The task was to construct towers using only index cards, strong enough to support a book. The students got super creative with their designs—some towers reached impressive heights, while others focused on stability and strength. It was amazing to watch them problem-solve and experiment with different techniques. Who would have thought index cards could hold so much weight? Stay tuned for more fun and learning adventures!

2nd & 3rd Grade Field Trip to the Environmental Nature Center 🌿
Our 2nd and 3rd graders recently had an amazing adventure at the Environmental Nature Center! The students explored the beautiful trails, learned about native plants and wildlife, and even participated in hands-on activities to better understand our environment. From examining different habitats to spotting local critters, the trip was filled with discovery and excitement.
A big thank you to the Environmental Nature Center staff for providing such an engaging and educational experience. Our students left with a greater appreciation for nature and how we can all play a part in taking care of our planet!
Last week the 6th and 7th graders at Zion Lutheran School showcased their creativity and historical imagination by performing skits on one of America's greatest mysteries—the disappearance of the Roanoke Colony. After studying the history of this lost colony, the students crafted their own props and brought their theories to life on stage, offering unique perspectives on what might have happened to the colonists.
In our FAITH & BLUE service, we celebrated, honored, and prayed for our men and women in blue. Thank you to all who serve. Stay safe.
Our 1st graders at Zion Lutheran School are getting creative in class by building cup pathways! With stacks of colorful cups, they’re designing intricate paths, testing their engineering skills, and working together to bring their imaginative ideas to life.
It’s wonderful to see these young minds at work, learning about problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity—all while having a blast! Keep up the great work, 1st graders!
Big congratulations to two of our 2nd graders who just graduated to subtraction in Xtramath! They are the first in the class to reach this milestone, and it’s a great accomplishment for them. Their hard work and dedication really paid off, and we are so proud of them. Keep up the amazing effort—more successes to come!
