Hey All,

Our board has started planning some developmental camps for the summer if and when we are able to get on the fields. An early draft of a plan consists of 5 weeks 3-4 days a week spending 1 week on each area of baseball.
1 week on proper throwing technique for preK-1st
1 week on pitching for 2nd and up(same week as throwing for preK-1st)
1 week fielding, infield, outfield, catcher
1 week hitting
1 week baserunning
1 week spliting the kids up and playing some games for fun.

I will update facebook, our homepage on EVAA.org, and send out emails as soon as we have our plan finalized.

Well today 4/27 I had to make the very tough decision to cancel the 2020 season. I really hate having to make this decision but for safety reasons and not having fields to play on until what would have been the end of school year there just isnt time for a season.

As of 4/20 we still plan on having our season start the week of 5/4.

Our in-house board along with the associations we are in leagues with have decided to delay the start of the season to the week of 5/4, hoping the force will be with us for all the Star Wars fans. Everybody stay home and stay well lets beat this darn virus and get back to normal. We will be extending our registration to 4/30 and will have a promo code within a few days to waive the late fee. Please do not register until we do have it.

This post is in regards to the email sent out today by EVAA about schools closing and the cancellation of current sports due to Covid-19.

The in-house season doesnt start for another 36 days at the earliest so as of Sunday 3/15 we are still planning on starting on schedule, of course this can change but there are no plans for that yet.

For any parents on the fence about registering and want to wait a little bit to see what happens because of Covid-19 we have extended our registration to Wednesday March 31st and have issued a promo code that you will see when registering to waive the late fee. I assure you that the health and safety of every single player is the most important thing for us when making decisions and we will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions accordingly.

Starting the season late is the option before cancelling the season but if we do have to cancel a credit of the registration fee will be offered to any other EVAA sports or a full refund can also happen if that is what is preferred.

Over the last several days, there has understandably been a lot of concern about the Covid-19 virus and EVAA’s response. Our primary concern is for the health and well-being of the children and their families, so EVAA is monitoring the situation closely and actions are developed as more is learned. More communication will come as it is known. In-house season is over 30 days away, so as of Friday 3/13 we are on track to start as scheduled, once fields have opened. We have extended our registration close to 3/31 and will be adding a promo code to our homepage to waive the late fee due to COVID-19 responses. We encourage you to let your friends know, we do our best to accommodate friend/team requests.

Reminder - mandatory meeting for coaches this evening at Falcon Ridge Middle School. We will be in the multi-purpose room/auditorium. Times are dependent on your age level, but start at 6:30pm.

If you have not already done so, you must place the order for your background check (through our website) and completed the concussion training within the last 3 years to receive your gear.

Registration closes tonight at midnight. If you haven't done so already, please sign your player up by going to our website at www.evaasports.org.

Late registrations are permitted only if there is roster space for your age group. There is a $50 late fee. Players who tryout for traveling and are not rostered will be granted an exception. Please contact Matthew Zahn or Jason Stauffer with any questions.

Remember as spring break comes to a close so does the deadline for baseball registration. Thanks to all those who have already registered. If you haven't please take a few minutes to get your player signed up now. We are busy setting schedules and knowing how many teams we have will help.

We need additional dedicated volunteers to help make our program successful. Our next board meeting is Tuesday, Feb 19th at 7:30pm at Rascal's in Apple Valley. Please come and add your talents.

Fields are closed tonight due to rain and poor conditions. All games and practices on Eastview fields are cancelled. Please stay off the fields to allow them to drain and for work crews to get them ready for play. Conditions will be assessed tomorrow.

Reminder Coach meeting tonight. At least 1 coach from every team must attend. Please be sure to complete your background checks and be sure your concussion training is up to date.

Reminder...Coach Clinic Sunday April 22 from 3pm to 4:30pm at the Cages in Burnsville. We encourage all head coaches, assistant coaches, and those who are interested in coaching in the future to attend. There is no cost to you.

No need to RSVP. Just show up and take it in. Coaches at every level should benefit.
