Is your pet scooting or licking their rear? It could be their a**l glands.
A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.
Soft, consistent stool, as well as allergies, are common causes of irritation. If your pet is scooting, licking excessively, or showing signs of discomfort around their rear end, contact us! We will help to identify the cause and determine the best course of treatment.
We are so thrilled by the response from you guys. This is not even a week into the drive and we are already well overflowing our weekly box! Thank you to those who donated additional supplies that the shelter can absolutely use.
Thank you again for your support in our month long shelter food drive!😁

If your cat is excessively vomiting, lethargic, loses their appetite, or has diarrhea or constipation, these may be signs of a blockage and you should contact our team immediately.
