Elvis and Dolly are eloping. Off to Memphis for these two icons. Congratulations to Galaxy Epop and the new owner!
Gallery COR would like to welcome Callie Ferraro. Callie Ferraro is a Contemporary Abstract Artist whose work has been described by collectors worldwide as raw, unconventional, and thought provoking. Her abstract paintings burst with color, energy, and an assertive femininity that commands attention without pressure. She shares her mind and growing point of view through her brush, giving you a platform for your own thoughts.
Thank you, Rick and Kelley for your continued support! Brilliant Liaison II 48 x 30 acrylic on wood panel is off to join a butterfly in my pollinator series. Brilliant Liaison II is a hummingbird composed with images of flowers it pollinates and that provide it with nectar. More than 7000 species globally rely on hummingbirds specifically for pollination. Some of the flowers in this painting include trumpet flowers, honeysuckle, morning glory, Dahlia, sage, and butterfly bush. Please DM with inquiries. Congratulations to COR Artist, Chad Rendel. One of his beautiful wood sculptures is leaving COR today. Chad heard from Raleigh Fine Arts Society that his sculpture “Unity” has been accepted into the 59th Annual NC Artist Exhibition. Now you’ll have to wait till it gets back to Gallery COR to make it your own. In the meantime, you can see more of Chad’s work here at Gallery COR. Congratulations Chad and congratulations to Raleigh Fine Art Society for choosing a juror with great taste.
A big thank you to the Laurel Of asheville and a big congratulations to Gallery COR artist Galaxy Epop. Make sure you check out Veronika‘s story in the August issue of The Laurel Of Asheville. Reading what Galaxy Epop says about the inspiration behind her work is fascinating! The spread in the Laurel is absolutely gorgeous. https://thelaurelofasheville.com/arts/cover-artist-galaxy-epop/
Congratulations Galaxy Epop and thank you Tom and Ken for making this amazing collage part of your collection. Galaxy Epop Is one of our fantastic Gallery COR artists. Come to the gallery to see more of her work and check her out on the cover of the Laurel Of Asheville this month.
We asked COR artist Meryl Lefkovich, what inspires her:
Overall, what inspires me the most is the mere fact that I can do it. That I have the desire, the motivation and ability to actually paint. My life would feel empty without painting.
I’m always inspired by nature and color. And the prospect of capturing and expressing what I see and feel in a permanent state. I’m inspired by pushing boundaries and learning new ways to share my visual experiences.
Thank you for making “Nature’s Glory” part of your collection. Nature’s Glory - 48 x 36 acrylic on wood panel. A ruby thirded, hummingbird striking a proud pose; he knows he’s pretty. Hummingbirds aren’t just here for their looks, 7000 species of plants in the Americas rely on them specifically for pollination and they help keep mosquitoes and other insect populations in balance. These little beauties are environmental work horses. This male ruby started hummingbird is shown with a few of the flowers. He has a symbiotic relationship with, including thistle, cardinal flower, sage, and buttonbush, which is a great alternative to invasive butterfly bush. See more of my work at https://www.lrowlandart.com/ or come by one of my galleries. I have two galleries in AVL, one in Asheville’s River Arts District at 191 Lyman Street, Suite 101 and one called Gallery COR at 19 Biltmore Ave. in Asheville’s downtown Gallery district.
Off to a fantastic new home right here in Asheville. Thank you so much, Cheryl. Such a pleasure talking with you over the last couple of weeks and so happy this painting has found its home with you. >>>scroll>>>>>
“The Beauty of Reciprocity” 48 x 36 x 3 acrylic on wood panel. A female crowned wood nymph hummingbird surrounded by the Tillandsia epiphytes that provide this Central American native with nectar. The wood nymph pollinates the tillandsia in return. Nature thrives on give and take between species and between species and their environments. We humans have the take part down. It’s way past time for us to see that unless we also give, the natural systems we rely on will collapse. This painting is hanging in my RAD gallery in Ashevilles River Arts District at 191 Lyman Street, Suite 101. Thanks for looking.
Sticks and Stones by COR artist Stephen Quinn he had a to a wonderful new home. Thank you to the Maserati family.
After a wonderful new home, thank you, Meredith “The First Flower III” 60 x 36 acrylic on wood panel. Magnolia boughs embracing with cardinals perched in their branches. Magnolias were the first blooming flower. They evolved before bees and butterflies, and were initially pollinated by beetles. This is called dumb pollination. The beetles, in search of the magnolias protein-rich pollen, would stumble through the tough, leathery flowers and eat the pollen with their mandibles. The pollen would stick to the hair on the beetles’ legs, and as they stumbled through other flowers, pollination took place. Today, magnolias are still pollinated by beetles, but other pollinators have joined the party. Magnolias also support many strong-beaked song birds that can consume their hardy seeds. Magnolias, home to insects, birds, and mammals, keep their leaves during winter, providing shelter. during the cold months. Another 60” x36”from this series is in process currently. See this and more of my work at my gallery in downtown Asheville, Gallery COR, which is located at 19 Biltmore Ave.

When we asked JEFF WARE, what was inspiring him lately he said working with North Carolina wood. JEFF uses found wood in various states and carves away the decaying parts to reveal organic sculptural forms. We think his work is pretty special.
A new one from the birds and boughs series! These take a long time, so pardon the radio silence. Another in this particular series with a neutral background is in process and will be completed soon. Standby. Awakening II- 48 x 72 x 3 acrylic on wood panel- A cherry tree in full bloom. Orioles and purple finches alight in its branches. Songbirds like these have symbiotic relationships with the cherry tree. They eat some of the blooms, allowing others to flourish. They also keep insect populations in balance. The tree provides them with food like blossoms, fruits and insects. It also provides them with shelter. Nature never disappoints; the deeper you look the deeper you find. See this and more of my work at my gallery in downtown Asheville, Gallery COR, which is located at 19 Biltmore Ave and at my RAD gallery at 191 Lyman Street, Suite 101. Thanks so much for looking.
Off on a new journey; thank you Christine and James!

Nature takes care of its own with such simplistic, beauty and elegance. We have a lot to learn from nature but first, we must humble ourselves so we recognize its value and wisdom.
