Meet the NEW face of Earth Roots!

After some serious thought, and bringing my second son into the world, I have decided to go digital. We will no longer be offering handmade organic skincare products (at least for now), which means we can put all our efforts towards bringing you quality information and resources that can have “real-world” impact in your life TODAY!

Earth Roots was founded in 2009, when my eldest son was about a year and a half old. He was born with a severe, rare skin condition that causes his skin to be extremely sensitive with frequent open wounds. The best doctors had little to say. It was the mamas who turned me on to natural remedies, leading to my enrollment in the deep study of herbal medicine with some of the best teachers in Southeast and the country.

I learned from Mimi Hernandez, Coreypine Shane, Ceara Foley, Marc Williams, Patricia Kyritsi Howell, Dr. Joie Power, John Immel, Juliet Blankespoor, Thomas Easley, Sam Coffman, Bevin Clare, and David Winston, among others and worked for Artisan Aromatics and American Herbalists Guild.

We rebranded in 2012, forming our ~gorgeous~ collection of handcrafted skincare and aromatherapy products that you all know and love. Our product line had a strong focus on sustainability, safety, efficacy and aesthetics. Most of our ingredients were sourced organically and certified fair trade. Products were made in small batches and sold at boutiques and events throughout the country (US). Alanis Morisette even kept our “Ground” Roll-On Oil on her bedside table!

When covid hit, we redirected our energy from products to people, engaging community through a different lens. Aside from our product line, we have always prioritized herbs as medicine for the people. Earth Roots was born out of necessity. My son still uses the products I make every single day (his skin has healed dramatically!) and a jar or bottle of plant magic doesn’t need a pretty label for someone to know it works (though it does make it more fun)! Our mission has always been to empower people with knowledge, tools and skills to fortify the individual pursuit of health, liberty and happiness.

You don’t have to go it alone. I know I don’t. I just had my second baby and now I’m a single mom. My eldest is almost 16 and beginning to prepare for college. I know I’m going to build a healthy, sustainable, secure life for myself, my family, and my community.
