NEW LIBRARY PASS ALERT!

Okay, so this Museum Monday is a little text-heavy, but only because we are so excited by everything in the FOUR MUSEUMS this pass covers. Introducing to the APL world- the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture pass!

Encompassing the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East, Harvard Museum of Natural History, Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, AND the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, this pass is an enquiring mind's ideal escape. You can visit a full-scale replica of an ancient Iron Age home or see the scientific implements that Harvard has been collecting since before this country was founded! This pass entitles the holder to up to 4 tickets to the four museums at 50% off. Note: one member of the party must have proof of being a Massachusetts resident for the pass to work.

The upstairs Friends Book Sale Corner has a new shelf! "Best books of the 21st Century" as voted by 503 novelists, non-fiction writers, poets, critics, and other book lovers - with a little help from the NY times book review staff. We have a few and they are stocked here with some priced as low as $2. Ashland Public Library

In Person - Gentle Yoga *For Adults Join yoga instructor, Judy Thapa, in this weekly relaxing, end-of-day gentle yoga session. Please bring your own mat and water bottle. Let your tensions go and be ready to focus on yourself for 45 minutes. This series is for adults 18+.

The Ashland Public Library is closed Thursday and Friday for the July 4th holiday 🎇 but will reopen Sat. with a bang for the Friends Book Sale! Library opens at 9:00. Sale begins at 9:30.

Disc Golf Time!!!! We're highlighting our Disc Golf Backpack from our library of things this week. Whether you play disc golf, ultimate frisbee, or just need to tire out your dog, this Thing Thursday spotlight is for you!

Library Maintenance

This coming week, roof work will be taking place at the library due to leaking. The work should be completed by the end of next week. We do not foresee any interruptions in service, but please keep an eye out for any updates.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Starting Thursday, June 6th, we will be starting a construction project in the library to repair the roof and ceiling. This will take several steps and, they say, about 3 weeks (but, as you know, construction always has delays). We will keep you posted for any service disruptions but be prepared for noise and closures of the Concord St. parking lot. And then, when it's done, be prepared to marvel!

Please help spread the word! For kids - it's a great opportunity to see cool construction vehicles :)

HAPPY JUNE! We are kicking off June with a super fun FREE raffle to get ready for Summer! Just come on in, fill out a ticket and drop it in the jar - it's that easy. We have two different baskets being raffled off, both full of books and other fun goodies. There is an awesome APL Summer Beach Read Basket and a wicked good APL Space & Sci-Fi Basket. You can put in one ticket per day and while you are welcome to try for both, you can only win one. 😀 Drawing is June 30th.
