P.E.S.T. Relief International has been involved in disaster relief since 2018. The devastation caused by Hurricane Ida to New Orleans, LA, and surrounding parishes has directly impacted some of our own. Hundreds of thousands of residents still remain without power, internet, and have severe damage to their homes. These conditions have made the city almost inhabitable. Professionals are working tirelessly to return this resilient city back to its full potential, but there is still much more work to be done.

We are partnering with the pest control industry to provide much-needed supplies to members of these communities. Please consider donating to our Disaster Relief Fund on our Kindest page to fund the supply of 100 battery-powered flashlight/ handheld fans, and nonperishable food and items.

A little yogurt goes a long way! I so enjoyed our time in Austin, Texas while visiting a government funded apartment complex. We handed out mattress encasements for sanitary sleeping conditions and also fed many of the resident breakfast. This little girl showed up after the pancakes were gone, but I had some yogurt that hit the spot!

We were blessed to give Christmas gifts to the children of the Taunton‘s Family Children’s Home. These bags were provided by Fostering Superstars and included a handmade teddy bear for every child.

What can a group of pest control operators do to help the community? ALOT! Thanks to the CPCO of Georgia conference who held a silent auction to benefit P.E.S.T. International. They raised $3702 that will go towards the R.E.S.T Initiative program. How amazing!

Thanks to all the golfers who came out for our annual golf tournament. We raised nearly $10,000 and had a great time doing it! Cannot wait until next year. We are so grateful for these funds which will go towards expanding our R.E.S.T. Initiative for 2019. God bless you!

As part of the R.E.S.T. Initiative, board member Kelly Brownlee traveled to Latvia and visited with the Apite orphanage in Riga which houses 21 young people. She brought Mattress Safe protective covers and gifts of candy, nail polish, ski caps, and jewelry. One of the directors of the orphanage, Inga Vecina, said that in order to be a positive force for young people you need 3 things: love, compassion and understanding. A Time to Give Thanks.

It is that time of the year when we all reflect on our many blessings. Some of us have been tremendously blessed in our businesses, families, and careers. What if in a day, that security was taken away from you, and you had no place to sleep tonight. This is the challenge that the ladies of McKemie Place encounter every night.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, these ladies in Mobile, Alabama, have no place to lay their head if it wasn’t for the women’s shelter that invites them in each night to feed them and protect them until the next sunrise.
Image how these ladies felt to come into a safe place to sleep only to realize they were not safe at all. As they sought rest and refuge, they were being tormented each night by bed bugs. That’s when Eric Ludgate of EnSec Pest & Lawn got involved and partnered with us to make McKemie Place a safe and sanitary place to sleep.

Through the REST Initiative, we were able to provide a comfortable place for these ladies to lay their heads at night. Eric performed the bed bug remediation treatments, and P.E.S.T. Relief International donated 118 mattress and box spring encasements. Afterwards, to show the residents how much they were valued, we hosted an ice cream social with every decadent topping you could imagine. A perfect Friday night treat!
