Fulton County scraps plans for new $1.7B jail for a $300M renovation Fulton County seeks way to fix up its old jail in Northwest Atlanta for one-sixth the price of a new one.

Bond or bail is an amount set by the judge to ensure your presence throughout the case. For instance, if you receive a five-thousand-dollar bond and pay that money (plus some fees) to the Sheriff’s Office, you will be released and at the end of the case get your money back (except for fees they add on).
