Congratulations to Chinny Law, who was included for the 6th year in a row on this year’s Georgia’s Rising Stars list.

Congratulations to Bryan Ramos for being selected to the Georgia's Top 100 list as published by Super Lawyers. While this marks Top 100 honors for the fifth consecutive year, he has been selected to be on the Super Lawyers list for the last 11 years.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only up to five percent of the lawyers in Georgia are named to Super Lawyers, while no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.

We are honored to be a part of this fantastic group of attorneys. Helping Georgia’s injured workers is our passion, and we are grateful to support Georgia's workforce daily.

What is a catastrophic injury under Georgia Law?

Under Georgia law, a catastrophic injury involves severe paralysis of an arm, leg, or trunk due to a spinal cord injury, amputation of an appendage, serious traumatic brain or closed-head injury, significant burns to a large portion of the body, or blindness.

However, any serious may qualify as “catastrophic” if it is so serious that it precludes the employee from ever returning back to work.

At Ramos & Law, our attorneys are experts in Georgia workers' compensation and are here to get you through this scary and life-altering time.

On Workers Memorial Day, we are reminded that is important, especially in industries with higher occupational injury incident rates.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, too many Georgia lives are lost to workplace incidents – with 193 fatalities in 2020. Transportation incidents accounted for 41 percent of fatal injuries, while other common causes of workplace fatalities included falls, slips and trips, and deadly contact with workplace objects and equipment.

We are saddened to hear of an occupational death, and we will work hard to ensure families know their rights under the Georgia workers’ compensation system. The value of a life can never be replaced; however, our legal team will work to lessen the financial burden the worker's dependents face during such a painful time.

The unthinkable acts of violence and hate displayed by the "Atlanta Spa Shootings" must not be tolerated nor forgotten. This tragedy took the lives of several innocent AAPI workers and Georgia residents, and it is important to remember their lives as we continue to speak out against violence targeting our communities.

As leaders and members of the AAPI community, we are committed to stopping violence against the Asian American community and urge you to join us, not just today, but every day.

From Bryan:
This month marks my 10-year survival anniversary from an almost deadly heart attack. The care and compassion I received from the medical and legal communities is something I will never forget. The lessons and education I learned were even more valuable.

According to the American Heart Association - CPR & First Aid, heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. It is also one of the most preventable. Attorneys, in particular, suffer a high rate of stress and burnout. A 2021 survey by The American Lawyer showed 71% said they experienced anxiety during their job.
