There's a wise saying, "make your mess your message." Our beautiful and generous Ashley Jones took that to heart after losing her daughter Skylar at just 21 months old.
She turned her grief into Love Not Lost, a nonprofit that provides photography sessions and treasured photo books for other families facing a terminal diagnosis.

How are you making ripples?
Every month, part of our Ripples of Hope cohort session is dedicated to fielding questions. This is a really good one, so we're putting it to you.
Whether you're leading a non-profit, a for-profit, or even a family, making those around you feel valued and heard is a necessary first step to making progress.
What are some of the ways you do this well for others?

One year ago, these people came together to launch Ripples of Hope. That was before the world turned upside-down and asked more from these nonprofit leaders than they could ever have planned for.
Last night, the Ripples of Hope cohort, leaders, and mentors celebrated Year One. This organization looks different than we imagined but it's exactly what it needs to be - an outlet for generous leaders to support and educate one another through teaching, mentoring, and peer-engagement.
Here's to 2021, Ripple-makers!
Thank you Jeff Hilimire for sharing the story of one of our cohorts, Ashley Nicole Jones!

For many nonprofits, spring is fundraiser season (galas, auctions, 5k's, etc.) Canceling poses a major financial challenge that will lessen their potential impact. If you were planning to attend a gala, race (etc) that isn't happening now, give anyway. Give monthly if you can.

Here are 7 tensions every leader needs to learn to navigate. Our Ripples leaders explore their natural leadership styles and best practices for balancing these common 'tensions' to be their most impactful.
Today we honor great men who had a large impact on our society and who overcame adversity via their vision, intelligence and leadership.
But we also want to honor great men and women making an impact on a smaller scale - by helping those with disabilities achieve victories, aiding people overcoming the loss of loved ones, fostering underserved communities towards higher education, navigating a complex maze to find a stable home, etc.
Learn a bit about these amazing leaders who are building their skills and network via Ripples of Hope.

50 ways to be ridiculously generous — and feel ridiculously good. | Alexandra Franzen I realized — many years ago — that when I behave generously, I feel rich. And I like to feel rich. As we prepare for our first Ripples learning session this week, we are thinking about the moments that have shaped our life purpose. We also read this great Harvard Business Review piece about measuring the value of life: https://lnkd.in/biJf_Ek
It has us thinking about an important question. How do your life and actions impact others?
What's your story?
In January, our cohort of leaders have been exploring the questions that shape our work.
How do you answer this fundamental question: How do I make my outcomes really big and make it about more than just me?
Our amazing first cohort had their kickoff retreat this weekend. JOYVIAL leader Hanni Berger said it best: "This was a GREAT start for us. It’s amazing to see how diverse we are...age, industry, cultural background, passions, expertise ...we all agreed that it’s awesome and an amazing asset for each of us."
This is going to be incredible.
