Extending Christ’s call to love your neighbor through housing, health care & crisis intervention.
For more than five decades, Christian City has extended Christ's call to love our neighbors through housing, healthcare, and crisis intervention.
After our annual Independence Day Golf Cart Parade, we had our cookout in the recreation center for more fun! We celebrated with hotdogs, chips, and various desserts! It was awesome fellowshipping with our Christian City Community. Thank you to all who participated, volunteered, and made this possible!❤️🤍💙
Today, Christian City had our annual Independence Day Celebration across campus!🎊🎉We enjoyed the decorative golf carts, creative outfits, and patriotic spirit of our residents and staff! For the first time, we went over our new walking trail, Fellowship Bridge, connecting Hilltop Acres and Dogwood Circle across the wetlands.
Thanks to Crossroads’ adoptive mom, Cynthia Jenkins , for sharing her story of welcoming two sisters into her family with the crew from Mileshko . Can’t wait to see how the crew’s skill and creativity bring the Jenkins family story to life on video!
A poet, a fashion stylist, cyber security expert, medical salesman, and an entrepreneur each gave our Thrive participants a glimpse into their work world last week at a Christian City Career Roundtable. A dozen or so of our residents -18-24 years old- gathered to, not only listen, but to speak one-on-one with the guest in order to explore how careers begin and evolve. Thanks to Leonard Blount, Trey Nibbs, Sabastian High, Jessica Thomas, and Victor Harper for sharing their journeys.
Blessings to all the dads, grandfathers, uncles, brothers and friends who father kids in our world. Christian City celebrated our Dad-residents on Friday with a festive lunch. You can find all the photos online: https://christiancity.pixieset.com/2024fathersdaylunch/
Christian City's Board of Trustees took a walk to see the new bridge before settling in for their meeting yesterday. The long-awaited bridge traverses wetlands on campus and connects the Dogwood Circle neighborhood with the Hilltop Acres neighborhood. No
doubt the bridge will become a favorite walking path after it is opened in mid-July.
Congratulations to our graduates! They are amazing young adults who have worked hard! One is headed to design school, one wants to become a firefighter and one has a certificate in HVAC! Christian City celebrated them recently with a feast, scholarships, and an inspiring talk from Brittney Sherell author and founder of Suitcasedream19 A Suitcase and a Dream. Brittney, who spent a decade in foster care, encouraged our kids to follow their dreams.
TrustDALE Dale Cardwell and Union City Mayor Vince Williams and his wife, Sharon, pose for the camera at this year’s Community Champion Awards. Christian City raised a record amount to support the work of its programs for vulnerable children and families.
Since 1965 the Children’s Village at Christian City has offered residential, family-style group homes for youth without a place to call home. Over the years we’ve added adoption and foster services, a crisis intervention program for working families, a runaway youth shelter and a residential program to help young men and women aging out of foster care get on their feet, prepared for a successful adulthood.

Tyler - our life enrichment guru - is always planning meaningful events on campus. But she didn't have to do this one! Residents in one of our neighborhoods gathered together to share a potluck lunch on Memorial Day. Clad in red, white, and blue, they enjoyed good fellowship while pausing to remember those who paid the ultimate price for all of us, protecting our freedom as Americans.

Congratulations to our outgoing Teen Board President, Bailey Moffett, who recently graduated from McIntosh High School. Bailey will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall to study Literature, Media, and Communications. She’s hoping to use her major to either become a professor (likely English) or to a focus in non-profit management. We know she’ll do well no matter which route she chooses. Thank you, Bailey, for being a dedicated member of our Teen Board and supporting Christian City!
The Christian City Teen Board offers unique opportunities for teenagers to contribute to the greater Atlanta community in a meaningful way, by learning how a non-profit works and participating in outreach efforts, while building resume credits and real-world experience. The Active Senior Living staff at Christian City is always thinking outside the box for new ways to make life better on campus. Recently, the team released 150 guppies into the retaining pond in our Hilltop Acres neighborhood in an effort to minimize the mosquito population. A small thing? Maybe. But a stellar example of how Christian City cares for its residents!

Christian City residents got their questions answered by health care advocates for a number of community organizations and businesses at last week's Health Fair. It is part of our ever-continuing effort to keep our residents well-informed and help them make good decisions - and it all comes to them on campus!

About Christian City
Christian City was founded in 1965 by a group of concerned citizens from area Christian churches who built the first cottage as a refuge for children in need of a loving home. From the first 50 acres donated by Dr. Bryon and Rose Marie Harper, the campus expanded over the years to the 500 acres that we have today.
Our Vision: Christian City envisions a world where the most vulnerable among us have a safe home and loving community, which enables them to thrive.
Our Mission: is to extend Christ’s call to love your neighbor through housing, health care and crisis intervention for children, families and older adults.
Our Promise: Life-changing Hope through Faith, Community and Care
