October’s is squash! 🎃🍂

A HUGE thank you to the apple growers in New York, Oregon, and Washington for donating fresh apples to support Hurricane Helene efforts in and other impacted communities in the Southeast!
These apples arrived in 40 lb boxes and are being repacked into 3-5 lb bags by the incredible volunteers from Georgia Power and the Navy ROTC at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Their hard work ensures that, after two weeks of relying on shelf-stable foods, families in areas still without power will receive fresh, nutritious produce. Once packed, the apples will be sent to Golden Harvest Food Bank, with one truckload from NY going to Augusta and the rest shared with NC and possibly Florida.
We couldn’t do this without the generosity of the growers and the dedication of our volunteers! 🙌
We need your help at on October 19 from 3PM - 11PM, as we rescue over 10 tractor trailers of fresh, nutritious produce from the Global Produce Show at the Georgia World Congress Center. We’re looking for volunteers who are 18+, able to walk long distances, stand unassisted, and lift. Your participation will play an important role in providing families in need with healthy food across Atlanta.
Be part of this rewarding experience to fight food waste and help our community!
