๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '25 student Rose Danuser.
โAt Emory, I most enjoy photography and dancing. I recently became a campus photographer, and it's been really fun because I've been able to attend more school events. As a member of Emory's official dance team, E-Motion, it's fun to have dance as an outlet because I spend a lot of time working in the research lab or studying, so it feels good to ground myself through dance.โ
๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '26 student Malia Wakesho.
โWhen I first arrived on campus from the UK, I told myself I was just going to stay within the walls of Emory, but then I went off campus with friends and I've had some of the best memories. For example, we went out for a meal with a big group of people, and the food was amazing! I even went to a concert, which Iโve never been to before and I really enjoyed it! I got to meet people, and it was really fun. I've never pushed myself like that before. Before I split my time between school and football (soccer) training, and that was it. But now to be out and exploring with friends, is quite cool. Getting out more and off campus has contributed to my growth.โ
๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '26 student Darby Osborne.
โDebate was my favorite activity in high school, and I feel like I learned so much from it. It helped me learn how to better communicate and how to properly form an argument. Debate gave me the opportunity to learn about so many important issues and topics, and I always knew I wanted to continue my engagement with it in some capacity. The Atlanta Urban Debate League immediately seemed like a great way to do this, and pairing debate with community engagement is the perfect combination for me.โ
๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '26 student Tina Zhen.
โI've learned that I am much braver than I thought I was. I had to fly 20-plus hours to get here and transfer three times from my hometown of Saipan, which people are often surprised to learn is a small island in the US. In Saipan, there are limited resources. We don't have direct flights to Atlanta, so I had to go to our nearing island Guam. I then had to fly to Japan and into Newark. From there, I finally made it to Atlanta. It was hard to say goodbye to my family and friends back home because whenever there are breaks, maybe people here can fly back to their families who are a few hours away but I can't. It was difficult for me to decide to go to college away from home, but I think I made a great decision. I feel like I'm brave for doing so, and I don't regret anything.โ
We are back with another student feature! This time, hear from Aanya Ravichander (Class of 26) on why Oxford College is the perfect fit for her!

๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '26 student Oyinlola Olawoye.
โIn my community, my support system right now would mainly be my friends. One of which I knew before I came to Emory, and she's been a strong support system. Her name is Chinememma. We both attended secondary school in Nigeria. It's funny because I didn't know we were both coming here until we got to campus. She applied early decision, but I applied regular decision, so I was happy to see a familiar face from home.โ
๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '24 student Matthew Somekh.
โWalking into my sophomore year of college, I felt pretty involved on campus but I wanted to join something that helped me give back to the Emory community, and I decided to join the tour guide process. Once I gave my first tour, it felt very rewarding and I felt myself grow in a number of ways. As a senior looking back, it was incredibly introspective to have conversations with students from across the nation, and it helped me build my social skills. It also made me feel a deeper connection to the community around me.โ
๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '26 student Carly Wilson.
โEven during my first year, I was able to join sports teams, like club soccer. Since I don't have much experience going to the gym, joining club soccer has given me the opportunity to continue to stay active, and play a sport I've always loved because it helps me feel energized. The connections it has helped me build are important because many of the members on my team are upperclassmen. As a freshman, it was easy to get stressed out about classes, but the upperclassmen on my soccer team reassured me that these feelings are normal and that most people experience them.โ
๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '25 student Claire Bowman.
โI have been interested in research for as long as I can remember. My favorite classes have always been those where Iโve worked hands-on to solve a problem. Iโve always seen myself working as a scientific researcher. Getting involved in that field as soon as possible is super important so that I can start to develop the necessary skills and gain useful experience to help solve big issues. I joined SIRE, a year-long research program, to help me in that mission, and I am excited to get to work!โ

๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '25 student Prayaag Oruganti.
โI have been playing tournament golf since I was 11. I came here to Emory as a student-athlete and I was a pretty solid player in high school. For me, it was about continuing to get better and to see if I could get good enough to play after college as well. Since then, I'd say being on both the golf team and the Student Athlete Executive Board here have greatly contributed to my growth. I'm one of the four who represents the student-athletes on the administration and conference levels which has helped me to take a step into a leadership role more seriously. My best friends on campus are on the golf team, the basketball team, the baseball team, the track team, and the volleyball team. They're also my support system here. We do homework together. We hang out on the weekends and we also go to each other's dorm rooms just to talk. There's a bond that we have over our similar lifestyles including traveling a lot and representing the university. For me, that community on campus has been the most special.โ
Congratulations ED2 admitted students! We're so proud of all of your hard work and cannot wait to see you on campus in the fall. Welcome to your next four, welcome to your Emory family!

๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '25 student Shaan Bhasin.
โDuring my first year, I remember me and a couple of friends were sitting on the quad. We were looking up at all of the buildings. There was the Rollins School of Medicine, the Freshman Halls, and we just looked at each other like how are we going to navigate all of this? Then a year later, so many things started aligning over time. I learned that it's okay to come not knowing what clubs you want to join or what you want to major in because in your first year, Emory helps you find that. I've talked to at least ten people, juniors and seniors, who've gone through this process of teasing out what major they want. Having that network of people who are willing to help you for no personal gain helped me decide to major in Psychology and Linguistics.โ
Emory University has extended its test optional policy for applicants who plan to enroll as first-year students or transfer students in Fall 2025. This policy means that any Fall 2025 applicants will not be required to submit standardized test scores, and applicants will not be disadvantaged in the review process if they do not submit scores.

๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '24 student Maya Fleischer.
โI'm a big advocate of self-care. For my self-care, my favorite thing is running at Lullwater. That is Heaven on earth to me, running that little loop. Itโs crazy to me that there's a lake and trees on campus! The fact that on campus, there are all of these academic buildings here and people running around with their backpacks going from class to class but you cross the street, and you feel like you're at a national park. Itโs so refreshing for me to have that at the tip of campus, to escape from the to-do lists, the busy schedules, and to have a mental and physical break.โ
๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '25 student Mohamed Ataelfadeel. Hometown: San Antonio, Texas / Emory College / First Generation College Student
โI would advise other students to trust the process. I came to the U.S. at the beginning of my sophomore year of high school, and I had to pick up English and apply to college quickly. Being here is the result of a lot of hard work and effort.โ
๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '26 student Anthony Vargas. Hometown: Woodland Park, N.J. / Oxford College / Areas of Study: Pre-Med, Film and Media Studies, Writing
โMany people believe that todayโs youth are going in all directions but the right one. Theyโre wrong. When we focus our efforts, our generation will blaze new trails in helping humanity down the right pathโone thatโs focused on equity and uplifting everyone. I personally hope that I can learn and grow at Emory to become a model of leadership, mentorship, and reliability dedicated to helping others in need.โ

๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '26 student Brigid May. Hometown: Holly Springs, North Carolina / Emory College / Woodruff Scholar in Music / Areas of Study: Music Performance, English and Classics
โI want to make a difference in this world. I want to influence people through music and writing, move them to tears and smiles and life-changing inspirations. At Emory, Iโve already made many friends who want to create that same kind of impact. It gives me so much hope that to be at an institution that inspires change-makers and supports a community of young people who want to learn and grow togetherโnot just in exploring one narrow field, but multiple passions at once.โ

๐๐ Meet Emory Class of '26 student Isabella Adeola. Hometown: Little Rock, Arkansas / Oxford College / Woodruff Scholar / Areas of Study: Neuroscience and Pre-Med
โIโve always been interested in the brainโthe scientific, biological part. Since thereโs so much about the brain that we donโt know about, Iโve always wanted to study it. Itโs such an amazing, intricate part of the human body. I want to unlock its secrets. At the same time, I always want to move towards increasing my knowledge and synthesizing the ideas Iโm passionate about to make an impact in the world, because thatโs what makes me feel most human. I think Emory has the resources I need to achieve my goalsโthe expertise in neuroscience, the emphasis on the humanities and ethics, the cutting-edge approachโall wound together. It will allow me to dedicate myself to using bioethics to center medicine and health care around the human being.โ

โKnowing that there are so many people at Emory who are invested in you can be very motivating. I want to do something public health-related. Growing up, my family had limited access to health care, like getting checkups. I want to work in underserved areas as a nurse and possibly do research.โ
