Ms. Gussie's Place
Ms. Gussie's Place is a center for children challenged with multiple different abilities. We focus on stimulating, motivating and educating all students.
Hello My Friends,
On January 1st, our Sweet, Strong, and Wonderful Ellis Owen Carter went home to be with the Lord. We at Ms. Gussie’s Place chose this time, this day known as Good Friday to honor our Ellis. Good Friday, the day that our Savior Jesus Christ gave His life so that we would have everlasting life, so that we who have lost our precious loved ones would surely see them again. Thank you Jesus!
A few years back Ellis received the Iron Man Award, because he was such a strong and courageous boy in every way. Ellis always knew what he wanted to do in every situation. He was such a hard worker, never wanting to take the easy route. Once in art class, everyone was given four colors to paint butterflies, red, yellow, green and blue. Ellis requested the color Brown for his butterfly, he was actually quite persistent with his request. Of course we scrambled around and mixed until we got the color brown. This experience says so much about Ellis and his personality. He was not limited by what was placed before him, he knew that the color brown was possible with just a little patience and extra work. As I stated before Ellis was a hard worker, always giving his all. Ellis loved Art, Music, Nature and all thing’s beautiful. He especially loved his family, his Sweet Mommie Amanda, his Precious Sister, Morgan and his Courageous Dad, Grant. We thank you family for sharing Ellis with us at Ms. Gussie’s Place. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers every day.
Thank you Ellis for continuing to Bless our Ms. Gussie’s Place Family. We love you Sweet Boy!

RUDY AND RUTH, JUST TRY!
A few weeks ago our Ms. Gussie’s Place Family said goodbye to one of our Sweet, Sweet Angels, Karmella (Melba Boo) Crowell.
Karmella was a great lover of sound. Not just any sound, she truly loved and was inspired by very high sounds. She absolutely loved Opera, (her favorite singer was Leontyne Price) bells and wind chimes. The picture below is special because on that day, not only was Karmella listening to the wind chimes, but she was actually the one causing the sound!
Karmella was also a great kickball player and a smart student in her small group class.
We know that Mella is in heaven singing Opera and playing Kickball with her friends Kameron and Briella. She is probably also having a High Tea Party with Ms. Gussie.
Please continue to keep Brittany, Darnell, Kholee and Onyx in your thoughts and prayers. We love you guys so much, we are forever thankful to you and God for sharing Karmella with us and the world.
With Much Love,
Ms. Gussie’s Place Family

Hello Superheroes, Parents and Friends,
Welcome to Story Time with Ms. Jacque. Today’s story is ”Rudy and the Apple”. This is a very entertaining story about apples from an Apple’s point of view. The Rudy the Red Rabbit Series was created for all children however it was especially created for children diagnosed with Cortical Visual Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injuries and Autism in mind. The Black background and other features such as lack of clutter in scenes, moving elements, bright colors and of course music, will help your child to get maximum enjoyment and understanding from this story.
Enjoy Learning!
I love you all!
Ms. Jacque
