This morning, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners was honored to have Rev. Dr. Jordan Thrasher of with us for a strong inspirational message!

The Board of Commissioners presented proclamations to HEH Paving for 35 years of business in DeKalb. We also honored 12 year old environmentalist, Sufi Momin who recently received local and global recognition for her short documentary on climate change.

This morning, I was proud to join CEO Michael Thurmond and our DeKalb BOC to proclaim today, “Delta Sigma Theta Decatur Alumnae Chapter” Day in DeKalb County! This year, the Decatur Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. celebrates 50 years of service, sisterhood, and social action! Join us in congratulating President Angela Sanders and the entire Decatur Alumnae chapter for their great work in DeKalb!

ALC this year has been amazing and we have our marching orders! Securing Our Democracy, Protecting Our Freedoms and Uplifting Our Culture!

It has truly been wonderful to be among many friends, fellow CBC spouses and all those in attendance to this years legislative conference!

I enjoyed being with Center for Civil Rights and Social Justice at their inaugural Advancing the Rule of Law in U.S. Elections Symposium in partnership with !

We also had the treat of hearing from the 36th President of the National Bar Association and notable Attorney in the Civil Rights Attorney, the renowned Fred Gray!

I had a phenomenal time spending Saturday morning with our DeKalb Youth Commissioners at their Annual Retreat!
