This Giving Tuesday give back to our LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness. โค๏ธ It's a sad reality that many young people in the LGBTQ+ community are left without a place to call home. They are often ostracized by their families and communities, leaving them vulnerable to poverty, violence, and homelessness.
That's why this Giving Tuesday, it's important to remember our LGBTQ+ youth and support organizations that are working tirelessly to provide them with shelter, food, clothing, and other basic necessities. By donating to our organization, we can help give these young people a chance at a brighter future and show them that they are valued and loved.

Reflecting on the True Meaning of Thanksgiving ๐
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, we asked our staff, youth, and volunteers some thought-provoking questions relating to this day of gratitude. While we spend time with loved ones and share experiences, let us not forget the essence of this holiday โ caring for one another, supporting those in need, and spreading love.
The holiday season can be a challenging time for many people, but it can be especially difficult for those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. While Thanksgiving is typically a time to gather with loved ones and express gratitude for all that we have, it can also be a time when LGBTQ+ youth feel isolated and alone.
Ultimately, the most important thing we can do this Thanksgiving โ and every day โ is to let LGBTQ+ youth know that they are not alone, and that they are valued members of our communities.
By coming together and showing our support, we can help to create a world where everyone is accepted and loved for who they are.
Observing Transgender Day of Remembrance
Every year on November 20th, the Transgender Day of Remembrance, also commonly referred to as the International Transgender Day of Remembrance, is recognized to honor those who have lost their lives due to transphobia. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing struggle for transgender rights and equality.
Transgender individuals face significant challenges in society, including discrimination, harassment, and violence. In many countries, they are denied basic human rights, including the right to healthcare, employment, and housing. This marginalization often leads to a higher risk of poverty, homelessness, and mental health issues. The Transgender Day of Remembrance is an opportunity to raise awareness about these issues and to remember those who have been lost. By coming together and supporting one another, we can work towards a more inclusive and accepting society for all genders.
There are approximately 3,374 homeless youth sleeping on the streets of Atlanta on any given night. 28 percent of those individuals are LGBTQ+, leaving over 950 homeless LGBTQ+ youth on the streets of Atlanta every night.
Our housing program shelters youth anywhere from 30 days to 12 months. With your donations and support we are able to provide not just a place to sleep for these youth, but a home. In our homes, our youth are provided with the upmost care and services to help get them on their feet and live on their own.
Thank you for your continued support! Get involved with LNFY by donating your time as a volunteer and help create comfortable homes such as this, or give a donation that will support our youth housing.๐๐

We hope to see you all again soon!
Help Us Secure our LGBTQ+ youthโs success this end of year season of giving. โค๏ธ

As we journey through this month of transgender awareness, we wanted to take the time to share some insightful facts about the T in LGBTQ!
Transgender people and youth face many hardships growing up, and for most, coming out is a scary task. When these people are given the support and love they need to be who they are, their likelihood of being happier, healthier, and safer goes up exponentially! Be the support system the trans community needs to live their lives authentically and happily so that they can beat the statistics and know that who they are is okay! โค๏ธ
This month is National Homeless Youth Month.
It is important to acknowledge the struggles and challenges faced by homeless youth, who often experience a lack of stability and support. Let us come together to support homeless youth and work towards a more just and equitable society for all.
