Congratulations to our own Jeff Breedlove on his appointment from Speaker Jon Burns to serve on the House Study Committee on Alternatives to Opioids for Pain Management.
The Committee will explore methods to increase awareness of non-opioid alternatives, including non-opioid pharmacologic treatments, through educational programs for healthcare providers. Recovery is real for people living with HIV. June 27th is National HIV Testing Day. This year’s theme, “Level Up Your Self-Love: Check Your Status,” emphasizes valuing yourself, showing compassion and respect, and honoring your health needs through self-love.
Whether you're in recovery, supporting someone who is, or simply looking to take charge of your health, getting tested for HIV is an important step. Visit https://gettested.cdc.gov to find free or reduced-cost HIV testing near you, or visit https://together.takemehome.org for free HIV self-testing for those who don’t have easy access to in-person testing services.

❤️💚🖤💛Juneteenth is a federal holiday celebrated on June 19th to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.❤️💚🖤💛

America needs opioid overdose reversal boxes inside the U. S. Capitol complex. These life saving boxes need to be at every location where there are AED and fire extinguishers - every one.
This needs to be a bipartisan priority. We need the Georgia Congressional Delegation to lead the effort and make this a reality.
It’s time for the Congressional leadership in the House and Senate to work together on this important issue
