Deadly particle pollution is on the rise, hitting its worst levels in years. 58 counties in 10 states have more 'very unhealthy' and 'hazardous' air quality days. Our Story
Due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Fight For Air Climb Atlanta is going virtual! The health and safety of our participants, volunteers and staff members is our top priority. Our Virtual Fight For Air Climb Atlanta will be held Wednesday, May 20th – Saturday, June 20th. We will be using May 20th – June 19th as an opportunity to practice for our Virtual Climb which will be held on June 20th. Plus, to kick-off the Virtual Climb, we will be hosting a Facebook Live event on June 20th at 8:30 am that will start with an opening ceremony that can be viewed on Facebook.
What is a Virtual Fight For Air Climb?
The virtual Fight For Air Climb is an opportunity to participate in an unprecedented fundraiser and make a significant impact in the fight against COVID-19 and other lung diseases. The mission remains the same, but your “climb” will look different. It is no longer a vertical race up 1,200 stairs but an opportunity to get active and creative. Get moving, Be creative, and Have fun. Please join our virtual community of climbers and head outside to one of the many beautiful trails throughout Georgia (while practicing safe, social distancing).
We want to continue to build and connect (even though virtually) our climb community, and we will be using the Strava app to ensure that we stay connected during our May 20th – June 20th virtual climb. Strava is a free application you can download on your smart phone to track your miles in support of the American Lung Association. Make sure to invite all the climbers you know to join our Climb Atlanta Presented by Emory Transplant Center Strava Club. (Pro Tip: Use the same first & last name you’ve used to register for the Fight For Air Climb.)
