Fix Georgia Pets

The mission of Fix Georgia Pets is to end pet overpopulation and stop senseless euthanasia in Georgia.

In Georgia, an estimated 62% of pets are killed in county shelters only because they do not have a home. The mission of Fix Georgia Pets is to fund grants to make spay and neuter services affordable in high pet overpopulation areas of Georgia.

We have had some questions about the little kittens. They are too young to be spayed or neutered, so they will be fostered, given any meds they need or vaccinations and will be loved until they are old enough to be fixed, then they will be available for adoption.

Another question was who is taking care of this colony? The residents of this apartment complex love these cats and are so happy the cycle will be stopped with all of them getting fixed. They all feed and watch out for them.

Again, we can't do this without YOU and our partners. We are stronger together. To help us with our mission, to donate or for more information, please visit www.fixgeorgiapets.org

On the ground in Waycross with Fred Hatch helping with an apartment complex with over 50 cats needing to be TNRd. We will be here the next few days and already this evening we have caught over 32 cats so far and we have a couple more hours to go.

FixGeorgiaPets is providing the funding, Kudzu Cat Alliance is providing trapping expertise, Pounce de Leon Cat Rescue provided humane traps, and The Rescue Ranch is providing surgeries.

Thank you to all working on this, Especially Fred Hatch, Lori Trahan and Barbara Bruigum. It takes a village, but we are making the world a better place one trapped cat at a time. Our Partners are the best!

Did you know?

A male pet may still be able to impregnate a female a few weeks after surgery. It’s essential to keep them separated during this time to prevent any unexpected litter.

Your support helps us continue this vital work. Learn more about our mission and how you can contribute: https://www.fixgeorgiapets.org/

We work with many TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) organizations to support their spay/neuter efforts. What is TNR? It is exactly what it sounds like: Cats are humanely trapped and taken to a veterinarian to be neutered and vaccinated. After recovery, the cats are returned to their home, their colony outdoors.

Friends.. This information is very important to know.!!! When you see a dirty cat.. This is important information to know, why cats look dirty.

🔺 Cats can resist hunger for up to a week on average, but no more than 2-3 days in case of thirst.

🔺 Cats are usually very clean, they are groomed several times a day, if you see a cat that is not clean, it is DEHYDRATED and has been so for many days.

Their saliva glands are not functioning properly, because they require moisture.!!!.

🔺 Please, if you see a stray kitten, apparently dirty, do not run, or look at it with disgust, it has already had difficult days.. In which I probably haven't eaten or drank any water for a long time!!!. If you don't like cats, express kindness out of compassion.!!

🔺 For humanity, empathy, and love for your neighbor, bring food and above all a container with WATER. It's not easy being thirsty and hungry and not being able to say a word! 💔🥺

“Helping a disadvantaged being, is the opportunity that life gives you to be a better person.”.
