Our Story

The Teach On Project (TOP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Atlanta, GA. For 14 years we have been elevating public education by identifying excellent educators and empowering them to expand their impact.

Over the last decade TOP has awarded almost $1 million to 130 outstanding teachers and school leaders in five Metro Atlanta districts: Atlanta Public Schools, Fulton County Schools, Cobb County Schools, DeKalb County Schools and Gwinnett County Schools. Our $7,500 awards include $3,500 towards a class or school project, $2,500 personal stipend, and $1,500 toward the educator's professional development. Our winners are chosen through a rigorous selection process that seeks to determine the educator's impact on student achievement and self esteem, and the depth of collaboration with community stakeholders.

TOP believes:
1) Excellent educators are critical in ensuring strong academic outcomes for students,
2) their impact and achievements go largely unrecognized and many educators are not fully empowered to support their students, and
3) that through recognition, empowerment, and financial support, excellent educators can multiply the impact of their efforts and elevate the quality of public education in metro Atlanta and beyond.
