Theta Xi

The highest honor that may be conferred upon a member of Theta Xi by the Fraternity is election to The Order of the Unicorn, the “Hall of Fame” of our Fraternity. The Order of the Unicorn was established by the Diamond Jubilee Convention (75th Anniversary) in Troy, NY on September 2, 1939. It established the means for honoring prolonged and invaluable service to the Fraternity.

This past weekend, at our 160th Anniversary Convention, we inducted three more Brothers into the Order of the Unicorn.

Last week, Justin and Kevin had the pleasure of attending Phired Up's Startup Summit at UIPUI. They both had a fantastic time meeting other expansion-based professionals and learning from the Phired Up team.

Kevin shared with us, "it was a blast learning from RJ, Woody, Jayson, and the rest of the Phired Up team. I have already started implementing many of the tactics we learned at this Summit and cannot wait to step foot on campus at Texas Tech. Also waiting on my People Join People merch to drop .up !"

This fall, Kevin will be working on reestablishing our Gamma Tau Chapter at Texas Tech University and Justin will be working on reestablishing our Alpha Nu Chapter at the University of Southern California!

We are excited to introduce our newest Headquarters staff member, Justin Urbealis, Gamma Mu 306. Justin started his role yesterday as Coordinator of Chapter Services, as he visits Theta Xi Headquarters in Atlanta to begin his onboarding. Welcome to the team, Justin!

In the meantime, let's take a look at some great memories from our 158th Anniversary Convention in New Orleans!

Happy Father’s Day to both our Brothers who are fathers and to all of our Brother’s fathers!

Theta Xi's Anniversary Convention is a time of connectivity and Brotherhood. Two of our Brothers, Samuel Drouilhet and Christian Crout, experienced this first-hand at our 158th Anniversary Convention. Both Brothers were recruited at our Alpha Omicron chapter in Lafayette but spent little time together before Christian transferred to UNO (Beta Xi). Sam heard many positive things about Brother Crout and was excited when he saw him at NDLA in 2021. Both Brothers had taken on officer positions at their chapters and stayed in touch after the Academy. Fast forward to November of 2021 when both men became President of their chapter. They were excited to learn they would both be holding this critical leadership role and stayed in touch during the early months of their term.

Once August rolled around, both Sam and Christian were excited to learn that they would be sharing a hotel room during convention. Crout recalls great memories from this time, commenting on how he enjoyed spending time with Sam and exchanging ideas to help both of their chapters. These Brothers enjoyed educational sessions and trainings together while also experiencing the various activities New Orleans had to offer.

It is connections like this that makes our Fraternity so important. And while Sam and Christian stayed in touch leading up to convention, you never know who you might connect or reconnect with spontaneously. Theta Xi is transforming how we recruit!

Through our new partnership with Phired Up, Theta Xi is exploring new ideas surrounding system-based growth strategies. With these new strategies and systems, it has never been easier for our members to grow their recruitment skills. Whether through the Certified Recruiter courses offered to our associate, undergraduate, and alumni members or the new methods of PNM organization offered within ChapterBuilder, Theta Xi members now have multiple avenues to focus their recruitment efforts through.

Back in February, Phired Up co-founder Josh Orendi joined us at the Newell Officer Academy to educate our chapter officers on all areas of this new partnership. We are excited to continue to work with Phired Up to help make our chapters the most well-rounded and productive recruiting groups they can possibly be!
