From contributing photographer Simon Lister Simon Lister Photography : "This was one of the toughest environments I have ever witnessed. Due to the stress of working in these mines the fathers spend their income on alcohol leaving no choice for the family but to work also in the mines to earn enough to put food on the table. Their house was at the entrance of the mine. The legal age to work in Bolivia is 10. 🙏🏼" This photo is in the "Faces of Innocence" display at Gideon Welles School in Glastonbury, CT.

“ART IN SCHOOL” by Besharat Arts Foundation

In 2018 Besharat Art Foundation launched the project “Art In School” in the hope that the daily contact with art that presents similarities between the people, whilst showing the differences, will promote sympathy and empathy amongst the children.

The Foundation’s goal is to run the project in schools in Georgia,USA and Barbizon, France. Later, it will be gradually extended to other territories. The intention is to turn schools to exhibition spaces in which works of renowned artists such as Steve Mc Curry will be exhibited to promote thought provoking opportunities leading to discussion and debate amongst the pupils.

The project is designed for elementary and the middle Schools across the states because the younger children are more susceptible to accept new ideas and ways of doing things.
