WEC is an environmental research institute dedicated to studying climate change, which supports environmental protection and nature conservation projects around the World.
Several years ago, the World Environmental Conservancy (WEC) changed its path towards an emphasis on investment in the training of promising young people in the environmental field. Always a central theme of WEC's mission, in recent years it has made great strides, utilizing its affiliated scientists in the challenging and rewarding task of mentoring young assistant researchers. Our work flourished, as WEC also grew and its goals became more clearly defined. WEC focused on contribution to the next generation, making them aware of and taking responsibility for the issues which their generation will need to confront. WEC guided, taught and, with great pride, sponsored our assistant researchers and their work at conferences. We believe that the mix of excitement and the strong reality presented at the scientific conferences will serve as a strong foundation for the training of these brilliant young people whom we sponsored. Climate change is dire, but we believe that the key lies in preparing the new generation to face this crisis. WEC is finishing one phase of projects and preparing for others to come. Congratulations to everyone involved in this story of love for science and nature!
