It's Black Business Month and GMEN has continued to build the future, legacy, wealth and personal identity of businesses all year long.
Congratulations is in order for our GMEN Women Program's Executive Project Director, Sonya Toomer Bates for the successful completion of our 2nd Annual "Pitch for Prosperity" Entrepreneurial Training in partnership with The Twenty Pearl Foundation Inc.
The Graduation and Pitch presentations culminated on August 27 at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs. What the graduates accomplishmented over the past 10 weeks are nothing short of inspiring. The progress they have made, the skills they have honed, and the plans they have set in motion are clear indicators of the bright futures that lie ahead for each of their ventures.

So we've been trying to provide entrepreneurial training to incarcerated individuals for many, many years with lots of opposition and roadblocks. But as the saying goes, when a door closes, open a window! This week we launched our entrepreneurial training program online in over 3,000 facilities and during the first few days over 600 individuals have started taking our training! For formerly incarcerated individuals we will be holding trainings in-person, sign ups will remain open through Aug 13th!
Our next Reentry Entrepreneurship Training Cohort starts this month on August 20th! The application deadline is August 13th. You don't want to miss out on this dynamic training!
