Cicely Jackson is a junior in the nursing school. She is from the heart of GA, Macon, GA. To her, being Miss Black and Gold represents a profound commitment to uplifting the Black community. Cicely aims  to address systemic stress within institutions and empower the young black community with mental health resources in order to positively impact future generations.

This past weekend, brothers of the Mu Alpha Chapter attended the Eminence Awards Ceremony hosted by Emory’s Offices of Residence and Sorority & Fraternity life. Mu Alpha had an excellent showing bringing home awards in the following areas:

✅ Excellence in Risk Management

The Brothers of the Magnificent Mu Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. volunteered at Snack In A Backpack at Glenn Memorial Church where we packed and transported over 100 care packages to be distributed to children and families in under privileged communities.

Join us tomorrow in the EBSU at 6:06PM for our Sexual Assault Awareness Seminar in partnership of the “Sweet” Nu Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Soroity, Inc. where we will have a candid conversation with the Office of Respect about what sexual assault is, prevention, and resources.

Today, Bro. Myles Dunn volunteered at Casa Scalabrini 634, an organization who supports refugees who’ve migrated to Rome, Italy. Bro. Dunn along with participated in a neighborhood clean up where they raked leaves and picked up trash in the surrounding area to give thanks to the community who’ve welcomed the refugees to their home! 🤙🏾

ALPHALAND dropping next week!

This weekend, The Brothers of Mu Alpha attended the 67th Georgia District Convention in Columbus Georgia. In collaboration with brothers the of Upsilon Omicron Chapter they became the Georgia District Scholar’s Bowl Champions!!🤙🏾

We humbly accept this recognition and are excited to represent the Georgia District at the Southern Regional Convention in March!

Congratulations to Bro. Myles Dunn for being initiated into Order of Omega Greek Honor Society for his high academic achievement and involvement in greek life, campus, and local community. We are so proud of you! 🤙🏾❄️

Here’s a quick recap of the Mu Alpha Chapter’s voting initiatives throughout this fall semester. The chapter is a proud recipient of the Vote Your Voice College Grant sponsored by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. We have used the grant to mobilize and equip Emory students with resources to understand their voting rights and practice their right to vote. The chapter also joined the Emory Students Vote Coalition where we work other student organizations in facilitating various voting events on campus. Lastly, we’ve had numerous voting events including Voter Registration, Voting Q&A Tabling, and an Election Day Watch Party. With the runoff elections coming up, the chapter’s voting initiatives haven’t concluded. Stay tuned as the work continues.

Election Day is almost here! Join us, Tuesday, November 8th, at 7:06 for our Election Day Watch Party to see the results and have non-partisan discussions. We will be providing free catered food and drinks. See you there!
