Out at near Coal City to find our Christmas Tree this year. We normally go to but they were closed so we tried this location instead. Totally impressed! The staff was welcoming and courteous - told us to come on in and enjoy the farm.

This location has amazing blueberries during the summer but this is our first time for cut your own trees. The area you can search is HUGE! And prices are so very reasonable. We got a 10’ white pine for $60 plus a small amount for shaking and bagging. Well worth the drive and we had a great time!

Was out showing today in and the street we were on had THREE homes with extreme Christmas displays featuring customized radio stations and everything. Loved them - going to bring the whole fam after dark.

If y’all don’t know you should check it out. It’s this awesome “small town America” community that’s right on the Rt. 34 corridor just west of and has tons of grest homes with tons of land for not a ton of $$. If you want to see some just dm me - would be happy to send a list!

Spent today at a coming soon listing getting it ready to go! We had a cleaning lady do a fairly poor job so I got out the steam cleaner and went over the cabinets, hood and floors. Results on the second pic - I think it looks great!

5 Tips to Glow Up Your Home for the Holidays

If you have a home for sale during the holidays, you can capitalize on the seasonal cheer by using these tips:

1. DO decorate but keep things uncluttered. Buyers love to see holiday cheer - lights and trees - but don’t go 110%. Keep things modest and depersonalized as much as possible - more ornaments and less family pictures.

2. Exterior lights are usually a plus but again don’t overdo it. If your home is the only one not lit on the street it’s going to look drab compared to the neighbors and many showings in this area will happen in the night time. Avoid large decorations like blow-up Santa and Rudolph.

3. Make your home smell like the holidays with a good melted wax diffuser and some pine, balsam fir or even cinnamon or gingerbread aromas. Scent is a huge selling factor so don’t be afraid to use it to your advantage!

4. After a snow make sure the front walks AND back patio or deck are clear before any showings. It’s sad if buyers can’t see your amazing pacer patio because of the snow so make it so they can!

5. Make small buyer gifts and put them on the counter. A simple tissue paper square with 4 Hershey kisses inside tied with colorful string left on the counter adds a personal touch and lasts much longer than cookies.

Awesome weekend in at Prairie Fest! We actually really loved the move from Father’s Day weekend to the fall. Weather was awesome and I didn’t die from heat while eating my hot dogs (sold as a fund raiser for a local BSA troop). Windy City Amusement was there with their setup and my girls loved it as well as the petting zoo.

First trip to pick apples in 2021 at our local in Oswego. We go here every year for apples and pick-your-own pumpkins as well as the apple cider and hot donuts. This year’s crop is great - apples are large and sweet. They are currently picking Zestat and Ginger Gold. Never tried a Ginger Gold before this weekend - usually don’t like yellow apples - but this one was great!

Garden was a huge success this year and this is about half of the tomatoes we’ve been able to harvest. Most are heirloom - Black Krim, Brandywine, Pineapple. Can’t wait for fall!
