This is such a good description of such a common health issue!
We see this cycle more often then not. 😔
If you are not sleeping, breathing and chewing well, it’s physically impossible to be optimally healthy!
Unfortunately, some children miss out on correct facial and jaw development, which often results in underdeveloped faces, crowded teeth, and sleeping/breathing disorders .

Tongue-tie & Tongue space restrictions can present with the same symptoms.
The problem is tongue mobility. The mobility can be restricted by the tie or by the space. Some individuals can have both. Tongue-tie can sometimes cause the tongue space issues. Our tongue is the natural expander of our upper jaw!

I GET EXCITED EVERY TIME WE GET TO HELP PATIENT’S EXPERIENCE WHAT MYO AND THE TEAM AROUND IT HAVE TO OFFER!! THIS PATIENT HAD GREAT RESULTS AND IS JUST ONE OF MANY THAT ARE BENEFITING FROM THIS SCIENCE!!
Tracey and her expertise have enhanced my life in profound ways. I sought her help when I learned about adult tongue ties (ankyloglossia) and began to suspect I had one. She confirmed that I had a grade 3 tongue tie that was severely impacting my tongue's range of motion. I also had minor top and bottom lip ties.
Before devising a treatment plan, Tracey referred me to an ear, nose, and throat doctor and a dentist who's experienced diagnosing and treating tongue and lip ties. We wanted to be sure my nasal breathing problems weren't related to a structural issue (like a deviated septum). We also wanted the dentist's second opinion about my lip and tongue tie diagnoses. He was able to confirm that it was safe to perform a frenectomy (tongue-tie release) because I had just enough room to suction the tip of my tongue to my palate. Had my palate been any narrower, he said he would not have recommended the surgery. It was also important to have imaging done to check the status of my airway and nasal cavity.
It's clear from day one of speaking with Tracey that she genuinely wants to help you improve your health and find relief. With a caring and enthusiastic attitude, she taught me pre-op tongue and facial exercises to prepare me for life after a frenectomy. She also taught me post-op exercises to ensure my tongue and lips did not reattach. Most recently, she taught me maintenance exercises so that the positive changes I gained from myofunctional therapy and the tongue and lip tie releases remain permanent.
Thanks to Tracey's help, I can now breathe slowly in and out through my nose and not feel lightheaded. I went from feeling anxious and stressed as my baseline to feeling calm. Constantly struggling to breathe without knowing the full extent of it was a major subconscious contributor to my feelings of stress and overwhelm. I'm so grateful she helped me get to the bottom of that! I no longer have chronic headaches. I can practice yoga and do pushups now without feeling like I'm going to pass out from my airway closing off in certain postures. I can keep my tongue up and out of my airway now when I sleep. I no longer wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air. Despite many trees releasing their pollen right now, I can actually breathe through my nose when I'm outside. I use to have mild heartburn regularly and now it's completely gone. The list goes on and on...
Think about this for a moment ....🌳

Healthy Breathing Through the Nose
So important! Always breathe correctly, which means to breathe through the nose, not the mouth.
It is amazing how much better we feel and how much healthier we stay when we breathe correctly day and night!
